We’re looking forward to introducing you to Batya Porter. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Batya, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
I would hire me because I bring a unique blend of patience, strategy, and results-driven marketing to every transaction. I’ve built my business on strong relationships, consistent communication, and a genuine commitment to helping my clients reach their goals—whether that’s finding the perfect home or selling for top dollar.
Growing up, my family home was foreclosed on, and that experience is what drives me to advocate fiercely for my clients. I understand firsthand how important stability and homeownership are, and I make it my mission to protect my clients’ best interests every step of the way.
With 12 real estate certifications, I stay at the forefront of industry knowledge, and as a certified property tax consultant and Texas notary, I provide an extra layer of expertise most agents can’t offer. My listings consistently stand out through innovative marketing—including professional video tours, 30-day geofencing ads, and neighborhood targeting that’s helped homes go under contract in as little as 31 days, even when others sat on the market for 200+.
I’ve proudly maintained a 5-star Google rating by treating every client like family and ensuring the process is smooth, transparent, and well-organized from start to finish.
In short — I don’t just list homes; I market, protect, and advocate for my clients every step of the way.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Batya Porter — a Central Texas real estate professional, certified property tax consultant, and Texas notary. My brand, buywithbatya, is built on a foundation of education, integrity, and advocacy. I take pride in helping families buy and sell homes with confidence, clarity, and a clear plan.
What makes my approach unique is that I’ve lived both sides of the real estate story. Growing up, my family home was foreclosed on, and that experience shaped my mission to protect and educate my clients so they never have to face the same uncertainty. I bring that same empathy and determination into every transaction — whether I’m helping a first-time buyer, a veteran, or a seasoned investor.
With 12 real estate certifications, I’m dedicated to staying ahead of market trends and using innovative marketing strategies to help my listings stand out — from targeted geofencing ads to custom video tours. I’ve also proudly maintained a 5-star Google rating by always putting relationships over transactions.
Right now, I’m focused on expanding community involvement — from volunteering at local schools to supporting veterans and small businesses throughout the Round Rock area. My goal is simple: to make the buying and selling process more transparent, empowering, and rewarding for everyone involved.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
The person who taught me the most about work is my husband, Tye. He’s the one who first encouraged me to pursue a career in real estate because he saw potential in me that I hadn’t yet recognized in myself. Tye taught me the importance of consistency, patience, and doing everything with integrity — even when no one is watching. His belief in me pushed me to take risks, stay disciplined, and build a business grounded in service and authenticity.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there was a time I almost gave up. Early in my real estate career, I faced months of hard work with few results, and it was discouraging to watch others succeed while I struggled to find my footing. I often felt inadequately prepared to add real value for my clients. But as I gained hands-on experience and invested in supplemental education, my confidence gradually grew. Joining business networking groups also played a huge role in my growth, opening doors to mentorship, support, and new opportunities.
Through it all, I reminded myself why I started — to help families feel secure in their homes and make a real difference in their lives. Leaning on the unwavering support of my husband, Tye, and continuing to build my skills and knowledge, I pushed through. That perseverance has shaped the agent I am today.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
From my perspective, one of the biggest lies the real estate industry tells itself is that transactions are all about speed and volume rather than genuine relationships and service. Too often, agents focus on quick closings and flashy marketing without truly educating or advocating for their clients. Another common misconception is that being “successful” means selling as many homes as possible — when in reality, success should be measured by the positive impact you make on the families you serve and the trust you build along the way.
In my experience, the agents who truly stand out are the ones who combine knowledge, empathy, and persistence, rather than chasing shortcuts or the next commission check. That’s why I focus on education, personalized guidance, and protecting my clients’ interests at every step — because the people I work with matter more than the numbers.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people remember me as someone who truly cared — not just about selling homes, but about the people behind them. I want them to say that I made a difference in their lives, that I treated every client with honesty, patience, and respect, and that I went above and beyond to protect their best interests. I also hope they remember my commitment to volunteering in the community and supporting others in building generational wealth, helping families create stability and opportunities that last for years to come. More than anything, I hope they see that I used my experiences — both the challenges and the successes — to empower others and make a meaningful, lasting impact.
