Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaden Canseco.
Hi Jaden, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had a passion for photography. I still remember being a little girl asking Santa for a professional camera. One Christmas, I got a small point-and-shoot, and it stuck with me for years.
As life went on, that dream of becoming a professional photographer slowly faded — until I became a mom. When our baby boy was born, that spark reignited. I wanted to capture every little moment, every detail, every smile.
I started researching the cheapest professional camera I could find, but before I could make a decision, my sweet husband came home and surprised me with one. That was in 2023 — and just a few months later, in June, I took my very first paying client for $50.
I haven’t stopped since.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been relatively smooth. I pick up things really easy. It was a learning curve getting my style down and not looking like a random person picked up a camera and showed up to the photoshoot! I worked really hard, invested in gear, invested in education, lots of research, and lots of practice. I am still learning everyday!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a motherhood photographer based in Austin, Texas, and I specialize in capturing the beautiful, real, and joy-filled moments that come with motherhood. From your first ultrasound to last moments with your bump, maternity, birth, newborn, cake smashes, and family sessions my focus is always on preserving the emotion and connection between families.
What I’m most proud of is how far my little dream has come — from taking my first paid session for $50 in 2023 to building a business that now documents some of the most meaningful seasons in people’s lives. Every session reminds me why I started — to freeze those fleeting, everyday moments that mean everything later.
What sets me apart is the heart behind my work. I want every mom to feel seen, beautiful, and at ease in front of my camera. My sessions are relaxed, fun, and filled with laughter — because the best photos happen when you’re truly in the moment. I also offer year-round breastfeeding and Mommy & Me minis, so moms can celebrate their connection with their babies anytime, not just during special seasons.
At the end of the day, I’m not just taking photos — I’m helping families tell their stories, one chapter at a time 🤍
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was quite rebellious growing up actually. I wasn’t bad, but I surely liked to test the limits. I was always full of energy, bubbly, and always down for a good time! I was always into creative outlet, I used to paint all the time and used other mediums to create art. I was also very sporty! I started soccer at 3 and played just about every sport there was, until I narrowed down to volleyball and played that from 9-17 when I stopped playing to focus on work – i worked at an urgent care for a while. I was also musically inclined. I played the trumpet in the band from 4th-8th grade and then played when I had the time.
