Today we’d like to introduce you to Bernice Escorpizo.
Hi Bernice, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Bernice Escorpizo, and I launched Providence Notary Services in mid-2025 with a simple premise: essential legal documentation should be accessible, convenient, and built on trust.
My career path began in luxury wellness and personalized care, with over 20 years of experience as a licensed massage therapist. Working with guests who value attention to detail and bespoke services became the unintentional foundation for Providence Notary Services. I saw notary work as a natural second career and an opportunity to apply my dedication to exceptional client care while easing the physical demands of massage therapy.
Several years after moving to Texas to open our family-owned restaurant franchise, the idea for Providence Notary Services crystallized during a personal experience of closing on the sale of our home entirely through Remote Online Notarization (RON). That seamless, convenient process sparked the vision to transfer lessons I had learned from both years in customer service and opening our restaurant while managing operations, logistics, and client interactions into a small business dedicated to guiding clients through important legal documents.
Providence Notary Services is more than just a name, it’s a promise. I chose “Providence” as a personal reflection of my belief that every signing, document, and client encounter is guided with God’s care and purpose. This faith forms the foundation of our business and inspires the core values we hold dear.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Launching Providence Notary Services came with its own set of challenges. As a massage therapist, the workflow was straightforward, but in the early days of Providence Notary Services, I had to learn how the pieces of a notary business truly come together. Recognizing the responsibility involved in documents that shape important life events such as real estate closing and estate planning, I approached my training with focused dedication. I devoted time and resources to training across all core services: General Notary Work, Real Estate and Loan Signings, Remote Online Notarization (RON), and the complex process of Apostille authentication.
Mastering the technical side of notary work was only half the journey. The other half was all the practical groundwork of starting a business, which included registering the LLC, investing in the right equipment, and turning our casita into a welcoming office for in-person appointments. I also had to set up the digital side of things, from the website and payment systems to the remote online notary platform, and a thoughtful marketing approach. Each challenge, whether logistical or legal, became an opportunity to create a professional, organized, and client-focused environment.
Like many businesses starting out, the most sustained challenge is managing the financial transition from an established career to building a new client base and income stream. With over 100 successful signings under my belt, I am now fully immersed and more comfortable. The ongoing challenge shifts to building a predictable, robust revenue stream and maintaining the personalized service clients expect, requiring us to refine systems and processes to manage the financial transition successfully and establish lasting stability.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Located in Horseshoe Bay, Texas, I am a commissioned Texas Notary as well as a commissioned Remote Online Notary. Our service areas span from the surrounding areas of Marble Falls, Burnet, Kingsland, and Llano to Spicewood, Lakeway, Bee Cave, Cedar Park, Leander, and Liberty Hill. For online notarizations, we can legally conduct signings with U.S. citizens and U.S. Residents located anywhere in the world. This is often paired with our expertise in Apostille authentication, which allows our clients to have important documents certified for use by foreign governments. We act as a bridge, ensuring clients never feel disconnected from compliance, regardless of their physical location.
When you work with us, you can expect punctuality, reliability, and professionalism at every step. Whether meeting at a coffee shop, a client’s kitchen table or online through Remote Online Notarization, we ensure each appointment runs smoothly and efficiently.
What clients appreciate most is our personalized service, attention to detail, and clear communication. We are there for clients when it matters most, making each step seamless and dependable.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is trust, integrity, and the impact of the work we do. At Providence Notary Services, every document we handle, whether a power of attorney, a real estate closing, or an international Apostille, represents a significant moment in someone’s life. We aren’t just stamping papers; we are verifying identities, deterring fraud, and protecting our clients’ most important transactions.
That commitment is upheld by three core principles:
– Impeccable Accuracy: Every document is handled with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and compliance so our clients have peace of mind.
– Accessibility and Empathy: Legal and official processes can be stressful. We treat every client with kindness and understanding, making the signing as seamless and simple as possible.
– Unwavering Integrity and Trust: Integrity is the foundation of notary work. Every signature we verify, every document we handle, carries real-world consequences. By being honest, transparent, and reliable, we protect our clients and uphold the trust that is placed in us.
My hope for Providence Notary Services is that we continue to be the definitive example of modern notarization: a fusion of old-world integrity and new-world efficiency. While notarization is a small part of the process, it’s a vital safeguard. I’m proud to serve, upholding the Constitution, one verified signature at a time.
