Exploring Life & Business with Justin Bryan of Bryan Custom Construction

Today we’d like to introduce you to Justin Bryan.

Hi Justin, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
After college, I spent about 15 years working in the oil and gas industry. Eventually, my family and I decided we wanted to get out of the city and move back to a smaller town with more family around, so we settled in Lexington, TX. That’s when I started doing construction full time, and things have been going really well. My grandfather was actually a builder in Lexington years ago, and we’ve even had the chance to remodel a few of the houses he previously built.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In construction, you have to stay flexible and communicate well because plans can change in an instant. Like anything else, there are always challenges that come up but the key is to make a plan, adjust when needed, and keep things moving forward.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We handle all kinds of construction projects from simple flooring updates to full home remodels and new builds. Our goal is to build strong relationships with our customers and bring their vision to life by really listening and working closely with them. This is a family business I hope my kids will continue to be a part of in the future.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
To me, success isn’t just about numbers or how many projects we complete, it’s about doing quality work, building trust with our customers, and being proud of what we create. I believe success comes from seeing a customer’s vision come to life, treating people right, and setting a good example for my kids. If I can do work I’m proud of and help others along the way, that’s success in my book.
