Check Out Gabrielle Carr’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabrielle Carr.

Hi Gabrielle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Photography has always been a part of my life in some way. Growing up, my dad was passionate about photography. I can still remember him with his big, fancy camera in hand, capturing every special moment. Those memories stuck with me.

Fast forward to motherhood, with three kids of my own, I found myself wanting to freeze those fleeting moments of their childhood: the messy hair, the barefoot adventures, the in-between giggles. On a whim, I decided to buy a camera. I had no idea how to use it, but I was determined. I practiced every single day, teaching myself and falling more in love with the process along the way.

Eventually, I felt this little tug on my heart to take it further. That’s when Gabrielle Carr Photography was born in February of 2024. What started as a personal passion has grown into something so much bigger. I’ve had the honor of capturing countless families, milestones, engagements, growing baby bumps, graduates, and marriages.

I’m passionate about what I do, about the connections made through each session, and about continuing to grow and learn this craft daily. It’s been such a beautiful journey, one that started with wanting to document my own family and has now become a way to help others do the same.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like most new business owners, especially in the photography world, the road hasn’t always been smooth. In the beginning, I struggled with seeing the value in my own art and learning how to price my work appropriately. Being completely self-taught, I definitely battled a bit of imposter syndrome, questioning whether I was “good enough” to call myself a photographer.

Another challenge was finding and trusting my own style. It’s easy to get caught up in what’s trending or what everyone else is doing, but I’ve learned that staying true to what feels authentic and beautiful to me is what matters most. The right clients always find you when you’re creating from a place of honesty and passion, and that lesson has shaped not only my business but also my confidence as an artist.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m the owner and photographer behind Gabrielle Carr Photography, where I specialize in capturing families, couples, and all the beautiful in-between moments. From glowing maternity sessions and giggling toddlers to graduates and newlyweds. My style is warm, candid, and storytelling in nature. I aim to freeze those real, fleeting moments that often go unnoticed — the way your child’s hand fits in yours, the laughter between poses, the quiet pauses that speak louder than words.

What I’m most proud of is how far I’ve come in such a short time. Since starting my business in February 2024, I’ve been able to photograph hundreds of meaningful moments for families across Central Texas. Each session feels personal because I know exactly how fast time passes as a mom myself.

What sets me apart is the heart I pour into every session. I don’t just show up with a camera, I show up with intention, care, and a genuine desire to create something that feels true to you. I believe photos should feel like memories, not posed or forced, but warm, natural, and full of emotion. That’s the magic I strive to capture every single time.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
There are so many ways to connect and be part of this journey! The best way to work with me is by booking a session through my website or following along on social media, that’s where I share upcoming mini sessions, seasonal offerings, and behind-the-scenes peeks into life as a photographer and mom.

I also love collaborating with other local creatives and small businesses, whether it’s styled shoots, community events, or brand partnerships that align with my warm, storytelling style. I’m always open to ideas that celebrate connection and creativity.

And honestly, one of the biggest ways to support me is simply by sharing my work, engaging with my posts, or referring me to friends and family. Every kind word, share, or booking means the world. It’s what allows me to keep doing what I love most: capturing memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.
