Today we’d like to introduce you to Cristina Garcia.
Hi Cristina, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I graduated from LSU in 2020 — yes, peak COVID — when people were losing jobs before they even started them. I earned a double major in Political Science and Public Relations back when “social media marketing” wasn’t really a formal program yet. Before graduating, I interned in D.C. and later landed a job as a Production Assistant at a creative and ad agency working on national government campaigns. That role taught me a ton about creative direction, ad buying, and how the agency world really works.
After that, I moved back to Austin, a little lost but determined to figure things out. My mom’s friend had a candle company that needed social media help, so I started there while interning at a marketing agency and slowly building something of my own. That’s when I discovered my passion for strategy, content creation, and all things social media. I realized my strength was connecting with people and understanding what makes brands click with their audience.
Those small projects grew into what is now 787 Social — a boutique marketing agency built on strategy, creativity, and genuine connection. From restaurants and lifestyle brands to real estate and hospitality, we help businesses craft stories that resonate and convert.
In 2024, I moved to New York to expand 787 Social — a decision that completely changed the trajectory of my business. The move opened doors to new industries, clients, and collaborations that I could’ve never imagined in Austin. It’s allowed me to grow professionally, build incredible relationships, and connect with creative communities that continue to inspire how I lead and grow my company today. That growth and exposure also led me to co-found Content Bar, a tech-driven platform built to help brands and creators elevate their content through vetted creators, think TaskRabbit but for content creation. As a tech co-founder, I’ve been able to merge my background in social strategy with technology that empowers people to create more efficiently, and that’s been one of the most exciting chapters yet.
From building an agency during a pandemic to growing a brand in two cities and stepping into the tech space, I’ve learned that success doesn’t come from having a perfect plan — it comes from staying curious, betting on yourself, and building connections that matter.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not… but I don’t think it’s supposed to be.
Starting a business right after college, during a pandemic, was far from easy. I had no roadmap, no investor, and honestly, no idea what entrepreneurship would really take. I was figuring things out as I went — managing client expectations, learning how to price my services, building systems, and realizing that being “creative” is only half the job. The other half is boundaries, contracts, and understanding your worth.
There were moments where I questioned EVERYTHING! — I was undercharging, overworking, and wearing every hat imaginable. I learned the hard way that growth means letting go — you can’t do everything yourself, and that’s okay. Delegating, hiring, and trusting others with something you built is a huge emotional and professional shift.
Moving to New York brought its own set of challenges, too. I had to rebuild my network, prove myself in a new market, and balance expansion while keeping my Austin roots strong. But it’s also where I grew the most — personally and professionally. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and opened doors to opportunities that led to co-founding Content Bar and growing 787 Social beyond what I ever imagined.
The road’s been anything but smooth, but every bump taught me something valuable. It’s made me more intentional, more grounded, and more confident in leading both a creative agency and a tech company.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about 787 Social and Content Bar ?
At 787 Social, we’re a boutique social media and marketing agency built on strategy, creativity, and connection. We help brands build a presence that feels authentic—not just visible. Our team manages everything from social media strategy and content creation to influencer campaigns, paid media, PR, and brand partnerships for clients across hospitality, lifestyle, real estate, and beyond.
What sets us apart is our approach. We don’t believe in cookie-cutter strategies or chasing trends just to keep up. We focus on storytelling that blends strategy, data, and creativity—helping brands create content that actually resonates. Every client receives hands-on attention, and we pride ourselves on being an extension of their internal team, not just another agency.
As 787 Social grew, we started seeing a clear need from brands that wanted high-quality, on-demand content creation without committing to a full agency retainer. They needed vetted creators they could trust—whether to shoot behind-the-scenes videos, product demos, interviews, or founder-led content.
That’s what led to Content Bar. Think TaskRabbit but for content creation. It’s a tech-enabled platform that helps brands quickly book local creators for on-site shoots, with the entire process—sourcing, booking, payments, legal, and deliverables—all in one place. Whether you just need someone to hit record or a professional to film and edit an event, Content Bar connects you with skilled creators who can bring your vision to life efficiently and seamlessly.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that both 787 Social and Content Bar share the same mission: to make great marketing more accessible, authentic, and effective. From managing long-term brand growth to simplifying one-off content needs, we’re here to help businesses create work that not only performs—but connects.

The creator economy is projected to surpass $500 billion by 2030, with nearly $65 billion of that focused on short-form video and UGC production—Content Bar’s core category. It’s clear that this space is only getting bigger, and we’re building something designed to meet that demand head-on.
With our strategic and creator advisory board, we’re confident that Content Bar will become one of the next major platforms shaping the creator economy, making it easier than ever for brands and creators to connect, collaborate, and create content that converts.
