Today we’d like to introduce you to Valentina Febres Alvarez.
Hi Valentina Febres, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey has been one of curiosity, presence, and following what truly calls me. I was born in Venezuela and studied Graphic Design, later working in education, psychology, marketing, and translations — all of which taught me how to communicate and connect deeply with people.
About nine years ago, I began teaching meditation and mindfulness practices, drawn to helping others slow down and reconnect with their real selves. Around that time, I also studied under Dr. Brian Weiss, learning concentration techniques and Regression Therapy, which deepened my understanding of the mind (subconscious and conscious) and the soul’s journey. Two years ago, I became a certified Mindfulness and Meditation Instructor, formalizing what had already become my calling.
Today, I lead mindfulness classes, retreats, and mindful travel experiences — including transformative walking journeys like the Camino de Santiago — all designed to help people step out of autopilot, live with awareness, and create space for transformation and self-discovery. My work blends creativity, education, and spiritual practice to guide others in waking up to their lives and embracing experiences that truly matter.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. My biggest struggle was finding balance between following my purpose and making a living from it. When I first started on this mindfulness path, I was so passionate about sharing these practices — but I still had bills to pay. Like many who turn their calling into a business, I found myself getting caught up in trying to be productive and profitable, and in the process, I began to lose touch with what this work was really about.
There came a point when I had to step back, reconnect with my original intention, and trust that the right form of my offering would emerge. Little by little, as I reconnected with my own practice and intuition, things started aligning naturally. That’s how I arrived at what I do today — creating mindful experiences, retreats, and journeys that not only reflect my values but also fill me with joy every single day.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I like to say I help people wake up to their lives — sometimes literally! (There’s always that one person who drifts off during meditation.)
I’m a bilingual Mindfulness and Meditation Instructor, retreat leader, and creator of mindful travel experiences that invite people to slow down, reconnect, and live with intention. My work weaves together mindfulness, spiritual regression, and the magic of meaningful travel — from quiet meditation sessions to transformative walking journeys like the Camino de Santiago.
What I’m most proud of is seeing people come back to themselves — that moment when someone realizes they don’t need to chase anything outside to feel complete. It’s powerful.
What sets me apart is that I approach mindfulness not as an escape from life, but as a way to fully experience it — the beauty, the discomfort, and everything in between. I bring a creative and grounded approach that blends my background in design, education, and personal growth with a deep respect for presence, humor, and humanity. My goal is to make mindfulness accessible, relatable, and something you actually look forward to practicing.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was the outgoing, funny one — the person who could make anyone laugh and loved seeing others feel comfortable and happy. I was full of energy and curiosity, and I probably talked a little too much in class (sorry, teachers!).
As I got older — especially through motherhood — I began to understand that the same lighthearted, joyful energy I had as a child wasn’t just for fun; it had a purpose. I realized I could bring that same presence into my work, but with a twist: not just to entertain or uplift others, but to help them connect more deeply with themselves. Now I see my humor and warmth as tools for mindfulness — reminders that awakening doesn’t have to be so serious, and that laughter can be a form of presence too.
