Today we’d like to introduce you to Clare Scott.
Clare, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was mid-workout, 40lb dumbbells in hand, when my trainer mentioned she needed shirts for her business — but everyone wanted her to order 25 minimum. She only needed a few.
So naturally, I put the dumbbells down, told my muscles to hold that thought, and decided I could probably figure it out.
Next thing I know, I’ve got five custom orders, a heat press on my kitchen counter, and t-shirts multiplying faster than my squats.
Then came hoodies. Then car decals.
And just like that… Valkyrie Made was born… In 2022, we stumbled on a Wimberley property with space for a workshop and a whole lot of potential — so we said goodbye to the city and hello to Hill Country life.
The Wimberley community wrapped us up in love and support from day one — it’s full of people who may come from different paths but walk together when it counts.
And then Valkyrie Made… well, she spread her wings.
Every day I thank God for planting this business, this land, and this life right where they belong.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Heck no, it hasn’t been easy. From day one, this business has been a crash course in trial, error, and caffeine. I’m 100% self-taught with zero design background — just a stubborn streak and a whole lot of grit.
There have been late nights, sleepless mornings, and maybe a few moments curled up in the fetal position next to the heat press, but every time, I got up and kept going.
Finances? Always tight. Faith? Always strong. Every time I think I’m about to run out of steam, God drops a big order or sends a sign to keep me pushing forward.
My degree is in Equestrian Business Management — not screen printing — so if you told me this would be my career, I’d have called you crazy. But here I am, covered in printing chaos, threads, and gratitude, building something beautiful one print at a time.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Valkyrie Made ?
Valkyrie Made started from one simple act of problem-solving — helping a local trainer who only needed a few shirts when every print shop demanded 25 or more. One thing led to another, and before I knew it, I was knee-deep in t-shirts, hoodies, decals, and a brand that took on a life of its own.
We’re a small but mighty print shop based in Wimberley, Texas, offering custom screen printing, embroidery, laser engraving, signage, and promotional products for businesses, events, and everyday dreamers. What sets us apart is that we don’t do cookie-cutter — every project gets the personal touch it deserves. Whether it’s your company merch, fundraiser gear, or the “I just need two shirts” order everyone else turned down — we make it happen.
I’m completely self-taught — no design school, no formal training — just a lot of grit, prayer, and trial by fire (and sometimes melted vinyl). From late nights figuring out how to fix a print gone rogue to learning new processes on the fly, Valkyrie Made was built with determination, faith, and the belief that creativity shouldn’t come with a minimum order requirement.
What sets us apart:
We treat every client like family — whether you’re ordering two shirts or two hundred.
We blend design, heart, and humor into everything we make.
We’re known for quality, and a genuine love for helping small businesses look their best.
We believe community is everything — and our Wimberley roots run deep.
Brand pride:
I’m most proud of how Valkyrie Made has grown into something that uplifts other small businesses. Our work is seen in coffee shops, ranches, fundraisers, and family reunions all over the Hill Country. Every piece we print carries a little piece of that community spirit — and that’s what makes it special.
At Valkyrie Made, we print everything everything except money (because that’s illegal) — but we do help brands and locals alike look like a million bucks.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Disney forgot to mention the part after the happy ending — where Cinderella has to pay taxes and Snow White’s prince leaves his socks on the floor.
The truth is, life isn’t a fairytale. The real magic comes from the hard work — the late nights, the constant learning, the moments where you want to quit but don’t. Nobody’s going to hand you the life you dream of; you’ve gotta earn it, every single day.
I’m so grateful for the family and parents who believed in me and helped make my “Disney dream” possible. But it’s up to me to take it further — to build something strong enough to pass on to my son, and maybe one day, the next generation of dreamers.
I’ve learned you can’t please everyone — and honestly, trying to will just drive you crazy. People will have their own opinions, their own objections, their own journeys. That’s okay.
You just keep showing up, doing the work, and trusting the process. Because that’s where the real story begins.
