Community Highlights: Meet Brittany Nollette of SwitchFade

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Nollette.

Hi Brittany, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started in the hair industry back in 2009. Over the years I worked in a mix of fast paced commission salons and eventually landed at Roosters, where I stayed for about eight years. That’s really where I sharpened my skills, built long-term relationships, and realized that men’s grooming was the lane I truly loved. There’s something about the precision, the conversations, and the confidence you can help someone walk out with.

After moving from California to Texas, I continued working behind the chair while settling into a new community and growing my clientele. Eventually, I reached a point where I wanted more creative control and a space that felt like ‘me,’ so I took the leap and opened SwitchFade, my private men’s grooming suite. As SwitchFade grew, I decided to go back to school and complete the barber crossover program so I could expand my skills and offer the full range of services my clients deserved.

Balancing being a mom, a business owner, and a student wasn’t easy, but it shaped me in the best way. Today, SwitchFade is not just my business, it’s an experience and a reflection of everything I’ve worked for. And I’m still learning, still growing, and still loving every part of this journey.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
This road has been anything but smooth, but I don’t think I’d be where I am without the bumps. Starting over in Texas meant rebuilding everything from the ground up. And when I decided to open SwitchFade, I took that on while being a mom and going to barber school, so there were definitely moments where I felt stretched thin. But every struggle came with growth. It taught me how to trust myself, set boundaries, lean into my passion, and create something I truly love. The challenges made the successes mean even more.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
SwitchFade is my modern vintage men’s grooming suite built around precision, comfort, and confidence. I specialize in men’s cuts, beard work, shaves, and color all done one on one, never rushed, and always customized. Being dual licensed in both cosmetology and barbering lets me bring real technique and creativity to every client.

What sets SwitchFade apart is the experience. It’s private, consistent, and has its own vibe clean, modern, and a little edgy. And yes, I’m great with kids too. I’m patient, I take my time, and I make sure they feel comfortable with the tools and the process instead of pushing them through a quick cut.

Brand wise, I’m proud that SwitchFade has an identity people recognize: detail driven work, a welcoming atmosphere, and services that actually make you feel like the best version of yourself. Whether you need a fade, a beard transformation, color, or a kid’s cut done with patience and care, SwitchFade is about one thing — confidence, done right.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I love most is the community feel. As a mom and a business owner, I appreciate how family friendly and supportive Leander is. My clients, my daughter’s school, the local businesses, it all feels connected.

The growth has been amazing, but with that comes traffic and construction. It’s not the end of the world, but it’s definitely the one thing I’d change if I could.
