Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittanie Dacus.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I begin my Botany Blog in May of 2020; like many of you, I wanted something to keep my mind off of the pandemic and seeing as how I was surrounded by many plants, I thought it would be a great idea to share my knowledge and connect with other like-minded individuals. That was the start of Botanist Bee. I have now connected with so many people from across the world that I wake up every day eager to share what I know.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
For the most part, I can honestly say it has been a smooth road for me and my brand. With this being something that I am passionate about, I have a fire inside of me to continue sharing what I know and help those around me. Don’t get me wrong, nothing in life is easy but I feel as though the good outweighs the bad simply because I genuinely love learning and sharing my love for plants.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I would like to say I’ve been a creative my entire life. I always knew that I was different from those around me but I couldn’t grasp or fully understand what that meant as a child. Being an adult, I am fully aware that I have a creative mind which allows me the chance to create beautiful, captivating things. In addition to loving plants, I also have a love for fashion and photography. I believe my dedication and consistency is what sets me apart from others Creating brings me a sense of peace and happiness that I cannot fully put into words.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Covid-19 has made me realize that many things that I would stress over and concern myself with did not and does not matter. What truly matters and means the most are the things that bring us happiness like family, food, nature walks, and plants. I have a very different outlook on life now thanks to Covid. When I wake up, I only do things that bring a smile to my face and I encourage those around me to do the same. If you’re not sure what that is, spend time doing a little of everything until you know what you like.
