Hi Diane, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve spent more than 30 years working in bookkeeping, payroll, and business operations, and over that time I found that my passion has always been helping small businesses stay organized, compliant, and financially healthy. I started out in traditional administrative and accounting roles, but as more people asked me for help fixing their books, setting up their systems, and making sense of their finances, I realized there was a real need for hands-on, personalized support, the kind most business owners don’t get from a typical bookkeeping firm.
DM Brooks Solutions grew very organically. One client turned into two, and before long I was helping businesses across all kinds of industries, like trucking, heavy equipment repair, interior design, retail, aviation, nonprofits, and more. The diversity of clients pushed me to build a service model that goes far beyond standard bookkeeping. I help with cleanups, payroll, sales-tax filings, legal and compliance documents, Operational cost reports, asset tracking, business structuring, and day-to-day administrative support. Every business needs something a little different, and I enjoy being the person they can rely on for the hard things.
What got me to where I am today is simple; relationships. My clients trust me with their businesses, and I don’t take that lightly. I’m committed to transparency, accuracy, and communication. I’m proud that most of my growth has come from word-of-mouth and referrals, it shows that people feel cared for and supported.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t think any business owner would say the road has been completely smooth, and I’m no exception. Building DM Brooks Solutions has been incredibly rewarding, but it’s also come with challenges that have shaped who I am as a business owner.
One of the biggest struggles early on was managing growth. My business grew quickly because clients referred me to other clients, often with complicated situations like messy books, past-due compliance, years of cleanup, or financial processes that had never been set up correctly. I had to learn how to balance taking on new work while still giving every client the detailed attention they deserve. It taught me the importance of strong systems and clear communication.
Another challenge has been helping clients understand the value of proper bookkeeping. Many small businesses don’t realize how much time, stress, and money they could save with accurate books and timely reporting. I’ve spent a lot of time educating business owners, building their trust, and showing them that I’m not just entering numbers, I’m protecting their business and helping them make informed decisions.
Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve had to juggle running the business with being the business, managing everything from operations to service delivery to client relations. It’s a lot to carry, but it’s made me stronger, more organized, and more intentional about how I run my company.

My business is DM Brooks Solutions LLC, a bookkeeping and business support firm that specializes in helping small businesses stay organized, compliant, and financially stable. What sets us apart is the level of detail, personalization, and hands-on involvement we offer. I don’t believe in cookie-cutter bookkeeping. Every business has its own challenges, and my approach is to understand the full picture, not just enter numbers.
DM Brooks Solutions handles everything from day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll, invoicing, and sales-tax filing to complex cleanup projects, loan and asset reconciliation, organizational structuring, and administrative support. Many of my clients come to me when their books are behind or out of control, or when they’re dealing with things like loans that weren’t set up correctly, messy financial records, or compliance issues. I specialize in straightening out difficult situations and creating clean, accurate systems they can depend on.
What I’m most proud of, brand-wise, is the trust my clients place in me. Most of my growth has come through referrals, which tells me that the people I serve feel supported, heard, and taken care of. My clients know they can call me with anything, whether it’s a payroll issue, a state filing, a legal document they don’t understand, or a financial decision they’re unsure about. They know I’ll find the answer and help them navigate it.

The most important quality behind my success is my attention to detail and the care I put into every client’s business. I treat their books the same way I’d treat my own, thorough, accurate, and with a genuine desire to help them succeed. My clients know they can trust me to catch the small things, fix the big things, and always be honest with them. That combination of precision and heart is what keeps my business strong.
