Today we’d like to introduce you to Clarissa.
Hi Clarissa, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started my career in the mortgage industry five years ago with a simple goal: to help families build stability and long-term wealth through homeownership. Early on, I learned that this business is about much more than rates and numbers—it’s about education, trust, and genuinely caring about the people you serve.
A big reason I’m where I am today is my commitment to educating my clients and meeting them where they are. I’ve built my business by taking the time to explain the process, set realistic expectations, and help clients feel confident in their decisions. I don’t believe in saying “no” without first exploring every possible solution—my mindset has always been to find a way forward while staying responsible and compliant.
Much of my business is focused on first-time homebuyers and Spanish-speaking clients, many of whom are navigating the mortgage process for the first time. Being able to educate, advocate, and break down complex information in a way that’s clear and empowering has been incredibly rewarding and continues to drive my passion for this work.
Today, I’m proud to be a producing sales leader serving families across Central Texas, supported by a strong team and a shared commitment to communication, education, and doing what’s right for every client.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. The mortgage market has been challenging, especially over the last few years with rising rates, tighter guidelines, and overall uncertainty. Like many in this industry, I’ve had to adapt quickly and continuously sharpen my skills.
What’s allowed my business to continue growing is staying focused on education, working hard, and surrounding myself with the right people. Teaming up with strong real estate partners and staying deeply connected to the communities I serve has made a huge difference. We’ve leaned into collaboration, communication, and finding creative solutions for clients instead of waiting for the market to change.
Down-payment assistance, particularly TSAHC, has also been a major part of that growth. By becoming an expert in these programs, I’ve been able to help more first-time buyers succeed even in a tough market. I’m proud to rank in the top 1% of TSAHC lenders statewide out of over 3,000 lenders, and currently rank #3 overall in production for that program.
The challenges have ultimately made me a stronger, more knowledgeable lender, and they’ve reinforced my belief that education, relationships, and consistency are what truly drive long-term success.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Waterstone Mortgage -Close with Clarissa ?
My business is centered on education, strategy, and clear communication. I specialize in FHA lending and down-payment assistance for first-time buyers, as well as high-end conventional financing for clients purchasing luxury homes.
What sets my brand apart is a solution-first approach. Instead of simply issuing approvals or denials, we build thoughtful loan strategies so clients understand their options and feel confident in their decisions. My team and I are known for strong follow-through, proactive communication, and guiding clients through even complex scenarios with clarity.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that my name is associated with trust, education, and advocacy. I want readers to know that my business is built on long-term relationships—not transactions—and on helping clients move forward with confidence, whether they’re buying their first home or their forever home.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Clear and consistent communication is the most important factor in my success. Keeping clients and partners informed, setting expectations upfront, and being accessible throughout the process builds trust, reduces stress, and allows transactions to move smoothly—even in challenging situations.
