For more than 21 years, she poured her heart into the Austin and Manor Independent School Districts and Huston‑Tillotson University. She taught, she led, she mentored, and she inspired. As a teacher, campus administrator, and adjunct professor, she shaped classrooms and guided educators, even presenting at state conferences to help others grow in their craft. Her impact reached far beyond the walls of any single school.
But even with all the success, something tugged at her spirit.
As a campus administrator, she found herself further from the daily laughter, curiosity, and joy of working directly with children—the very thing that first called her into education. She missed the small hands raised with big questions, the lightbulb moments, the energy of a room full of young learners discovering something new.
That longing sparked an idea.

LaNica took everything she knew about teaching, child development, and joyful learning, and mixed it with her love for baking. The result was something entirely new: a mobile baking experience designed to educate, delight, and empower children through hands-on creativity.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all. This journey has been anything but smooth, but it has been purposeful.
When I started Sprinkle Me Baby, I quickly learned that passion alone doesn’t pay for supplies, equipment, or marketing. Lack of funding was one of my biggest early challenges. I had the vision, the experience, and the heart—but turning that into a functioning business required resources I didn’t always have. Marketing the idea is my current hurdle. I know what I have created, but getting others to see the value in a mobile baking classroom is taking time, consistency, and a whole lot of faith.
And faith has truly been my anchor. There were moments filled with discouragement—times when I questioned whether this dream would grow into what I believed it could be. I stayed in prayer, reminding myself that purpose doesn’t always come with an easy path. Even when doubt crept in, I kept moving.
Balancing a full‑time job while building a business has been one of the toughest parts. Long nights, early mornings, and countless hours spent doing things for free just to get my name out there—it’s exhausting, but it’s also part of the foundation. Every sacrifice has shaped the business and strengthened my commitment.
Despite the challenges, I continue to press on. I believe in this vision. I believe in the children and families I serve. And I believe that every obstacle is preparing me for the growth that’s coming.

I operate a fully converted school bus that has been transformed into a mobile baking classroom, complete with an oven and space for up to 15 guests at a time. Instead of families or coming to me, I bring the baking party right to their doorstep.

My biggest piece of advice is this: find your tribe and build your support system early. Entrepreneurship can feel lonely, and having people who believe in you — even when you’re struggling to believe in yourself — makes all the difference.
Be open to the magic. We all start with a picture in our minds of what our journey should look like, but the path God has for you may look completely different. I had to learn to release my expectations and trust the process. Doors will open that you never imagined, and some doors will close for your protection. Stay flexible and stay faithful.
Focus is everything. There will be distractions, doubts, and days when you question why you started. Keep going anyway. Keep the faith. Keep showing up. Success is not reserved for a select few — it’s yours for the taking if you’re willing to work, grow, and believe in the vision placed inside you.
