Today we’d like to introduce you to India McDowell.
Hi India, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started out taking hair a little more serious back in Georgia. I knew moving to Texas I wanted to do something different. I thought about a plan and started doing my research. I brought a bus and started converting it into a mobile hair salon. I’ve been using my mobile salon covering area from Killeen to San Antonio. I’ve done two hair tours to and from the East coast. I recently opened a salon in bell county while still having my mobile salon. I’ve worked with different celebrities and big events like NYC Fashion Week. Everything has been going well.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Some days are smooth but there are always rough days. The main thing is always find a way to decompress and not get overwhelmed. Rather it’s with clients or business enhancement. My support system makes it all worth it.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in hair. From weaving to braids. There are so many things to do in the hair industry, I focus on more on natural, braids, weaving. I’m most proud of my braiding. I gain lots of clients from my consistency and neatness. Being more flexible and being a great listener sets me apart from others. I like to refer to my business as a one stop shop.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Making people feel good and look good makes me happy. Most of my excitement comes from the happiness I bring my clients, and appreciation my family show towards everything I do.
