Check Out Cecy Holubec’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cecy Holubec.

Hi Cecy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My love for photography comes from understanding just how powerful an image can be. I never had the chance to meet my father, he passed away before I was born and photographs became my only connection to him. Those images weren’t just pictures; they were memories, comfort, and proof that moments can live on.

That experience shaped why I became a photographer. I got a camera when I was 12yrs old and In 2010, i made it official and started Photography by Cecy with the goal of capturing meaningful moments that people can hold onto forever. From maternity and newborn sessions to families and professional headshots, my work is centered on preserving moments that matter most.

I believe photography is more than just taking photos, it’s about creating lasting memories, telling stories, and preserving pieces of life that deserve to be remembered.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all! it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many small business owners, I started with passion and very little guidance. Learning how to run a business while also perfecting my craft took time, patience, and a lot of trial and error. There were seasons where bookings were inconsistent, confidence was shaken, and I questioned whether I was doing enough or heading in the right direction.

One of the biggest challenges was learning how to balance family time, creativity, and finances.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a professional photographer specializing in maternity, newborns, families, grads and headshots. I’m mostly known for creating colorful, timeless images. I truly love creating new portraits that reflect who people are in all seasons of their lives.

What I’m most proud of is the trust my clients place in me. What sets me apart is the heart and intention behind my work.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Never give up on your dreams, even when chasing them feels uncomfortable or uncertain. It’s okay to change directions or redefine what your dream looks like, that’s part of growth. What matters most is not settling and continuing to move toward what lights you up.
