Today we’d like to introduce you to Mikaela Lindsey.
Hi Mikaela, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Upon graduating high school with my degree I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I started working out when I was 13 and did my first bodybuilding show at age 16. My early teen years were plagued by an eating disorder. I did classical ballet at the time and my naturally muscular frame wasn’t the stereotypical ballerina shape. Finding a personal trainer radically changed the way I viewed my body and helped me embrace my natural structure. The impact was so great that I decided I wanted to be able to help others in a similar way. Potential Fulfilled Personal Training was born in 2016 and I haven’t looked back since. I love helping others #discovertheirpotential and feel healthier, more confident along the way.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the biggest struggles was relocating. I was originally based out of Killeen, TX and relocated to Austin to go to the University of Texas. I wasn’t able to take any of my clients and had to start from scratch in a new city? New gym. Even though I moved to continue my degree, I decided that I would put a pause on that to regrow my business and once it stabilized revisit that idea. Being a private contractor meant that I did not get clients fed to me from a gym, but was responsible for building my own. As I worked to build my clientele here in Austin I also spent a lot of time Ubering to make ends meet.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I make it my commitment to guide my clients through mental and physical barriers, working with them to identify challenges and develop strategies. My B.A. in psychology allows me insight into human processing and viewing each client as a unique individual allows me to work with a variety of clients in different stages of life. Through my programming clients can develop a confident mindset to apply to all aspects of their life. I prioritize form over weight progression and have a great eye for detail. Despite not being a patient individual in life, I have an immense amount of patience when it comes to my clients and their personal journey.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Craig and Lacey Jennings owned the first gym that I ever worked at. Without that gym I wouldn’t have been able to get my start as a freelance personal trainer.
I did a mentorship with Zack Blakney, who taught me a lot in regards to contest prep and setting up business systems.
Rob and Esther Impastato, the owners of Big Tex gym who have given me a safe place to train my clients for the past 5 years.
My mother for always encouraging me to chase my wildest dreams and my grandfather for being my biggest supporter.
