Today we’d like to introduce you to Deann Hutchison.
Hi Deann, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started in this industry 23 years ago. I always knew I wanted to help others. I focused my studies on understanding how the body works. I have worked for spas and chiropractors. When I started to struggle with my own autoimmune issues I started studying more of the eastern modalities and got a bachelors degree in alternative medicine. I am always learning and growing. I focus on the more therapeutic side of massage therapy while still offering spa and energetic work for those that need it.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There are so many ups and downs in the massage industry. The biggest struggle is getting myself known in the community. I am an introvert so talking in front of large crowds can be difficult at times.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am known for my deep tissue massages. I love doing detailed work on the body. I think what sets me apart from others is my ability to utilize many different modalities to achieve the most effective therapeutic response.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I would not say I am a risk taker. The biggest risk I have taken was when I opened my business up in 2022. I say it was a risk since I had no clients to start with.
