Hi Karen, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have been in private practice as a psychologist for 30 years seeing clients in individual, group, and couples psychotherapy. This year I’m starting a new endeavor to add to my therapy practice. Synergy GroupWorks brings leaders or team members together in guided, insight-driven conversations that strengthen trust, communication, and collaboration. Through facilitated group coaching, participants explore real workplace dynamics, build emotional intelligence, and translate personal awareness into collective impact. More specifically, a small group of selected leaders or team members meet weekly or biweekly in a confidential setting to explore barriers, strengths and struggles while providing honest feedback to each other.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’m just starting out on this journey, so no real struggles yet.

I’m creating a new business in addition to my private practice as a psychologist, morphing my experience as a group therapist into group coaching for business professionals. I will be working with small groups of business leaders and team members in guided, insight-driven conversations that strengthen trust, communication, and collaboration. Through facilitated group coaching, participants explore real workplace dynamics, build emotional intelligence, and translate personal awareness into collective impact. More specifically, a small group of selected leaders or team members meet weekly or biweekly in a confidential setting to explore barriers, strengths and struggles while providing honest feedback to each other. What I love about this model is that it channels years of experience as a psychotherapist into building better leaders and business cultures.
