Rising Stars: Meet Zacha Evetts of All of central Texas.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zacha Evetts.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve been behind a camera since I was in high school. I joined the military, and after I got out in 2015, I started making videos and taking photos with anything I could get my hands on. Phones, GoPro, hand-me-downs, anything. In 2017, my wife could see how much I enjoyed shooting, I have a hard time spending money on myself, and she surprised me with my first Dslr. I started shooting everything. Soon, I started having friends and family started asking me to do shoots with them. After a few years of practicing, I really locked in my style with nature photography and was fairly confident with portrait sessions.
in 2020 after everyone telling me I should do photography professionally, I took the jump, and I started Zacha Evetts Photography. I started shooting more and more, selling nature prints, booking shoots, and collaborating on projects.
My camera has become my compass, and it has taken me all across the USA more times than I can count. I spent 6 months in Whitefish, Montana, shooting snowboarders and Skiers. I’m published in The Guinness Book of World Records 2025. I self-published a photography book. I have a great network of people who share my work and refer me. Over the past 2 years, I’ve started to lean more into the fine art world.
Wherever my camera points, I will follow. Sometimes it can get slow or tough, but I am committed to it for the long run, regardless of the money. I do it because I love to show people how beautiful the world and people can be.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Being a creative definitely has its struggles. Starting out, proving yourself, not selling yourself short, and navigating the market flow. There are so many things that can trip you up. Sometimes you’re crushing it. The next you’re broke with nothing on the books.
Being niche can put you in a box, too. I shoot mostly outside and very rarely find myself in a studio. So if you want a studio shoot, I’m not your guy.
However, it can make you unique in your own style. which can help you stand out.
There are also markets you may not want to tap into. Personally, I won’t do weddings. I’ve done a total of 5, and I’ll never do them again.

Marketing has been a struggle for me.
I think the biggest issue for me has been that starting my own photography business means I have to be more than a photographer. I have to be a Salesman, book keeper, a website designer, etc. I had to learn all the back-end stuff on my own. 6 years in and I still struggle with it.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m most known for my nature photography. I spend most of my time outside. Ive taken my skills with a camera outside and use that with portraits. A mix of humans and nature is where my business thrives.
Epic landscapes with beautiful humans expressing themselves always create wonderful and inspiring sessions.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Shoot every day, even if it’s for 10 mins. always keep shooting.
Don’t sell yourself short.
Take time to learn the back-end work.
Embrace the creativity, try new things, and push your skills.
Always keep pushing. The creative path is a hard one, but the only way you fail is if you quit.
