Hi Connie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey into the beauty industry began at a young age, accompanying my mom on salon visits and witnessing the transformative power of the hairstylist behind the chair. These early experiences left a lasting impression on me, eventually leading me to beauty school and a career that aligns with my purpose.
My path began as an apprentice at Buda, where I honed my skills and grew into my role as a stylist. Eventually, I relocated to Austin, where I found my professional sanctuary in Grapevine Salon suites.
Today, I work with a diverse clientele of busy women (professionals, moms, and business owners) who prioritize a calm environment and natural results. Each service I provide is meticulously crafted with intention, personalization, and a commitment to thoughtful design.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. There were moments of self doubt and growing pains, especially learning how to balance creativity with the realities of running a business. Those challenges ultimately helped me slow down, trust my instincts, and build a more intentional and aligned way of working.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My work centers on creating refined, natural hair for busy women who want to feel polished without their hair feeling overdone or demanding. I specialize in custom color and lived-in color, with an emphasis on balance, longevity, and results that grow out beautifully.
I’m known for a calm, thoughtful approach and a space designed to feel personal and unhurried. What I’m most proud of is building trust, creating an experience where women feel heard, relaxed, and confident in the process. In an industry that often prioritizes speed, my work is guided by thoughtful design and a more considered way of working.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is creating work that feels meaningful and sharing that experience with people who truly value it. I love helping women feel confident in a way that fits their real lives, and I find a lot of joy in the quiet moments, thoughtful conversations, creative focus, and seeing someone leave feeling like themselves, just more confident.
