Exploring Life & Business with Ash Meredith of THE HENRY COFFEE

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ash Meredith.

Hi Ash, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
For over 10 years we have sat on a dream and a vision of starting a coffee shop!!! Australian coffee culture is ingrained in me, I can’t help it, it’s what I grew up with! The quality and taste of smooth coffee without the need for flavors and sugar added to enhance/improve the taste! But more than just coffee- it’s the community, the relationships and the experience coffee can bring! And so we set out and aim to bring that here to the Texas Hill Country – Coffee and community inspired by the Australian Coffee culture!

So I quit my job in the tech industry and here we are at the beginning of The Henry Coffee! We have big dreams and plans and we can’t wait to see it unfold.

The Henry Coffee – Named after my Great Grandpa. He would always call me his best friend and he was mine! He was a hard worker, inspired me and instilled in me a strong work ethic! I was always taught if you work hard and apply your mind to what you do, you can achieve anything. I’ll go a step further and add in that if you keep Jesus at the center of it all then anything really is possible!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I think being a small business generally comes with its challenges and obstacles, You’re up against larger companies and corporations, but when your product is good and you cater to the local community this helps you push through the noise.

Being a coffee trailer within it self has its challenges and limitations, especially when it comes to space and weather. But we have worked hard to make it as smooth and efficient operation as possible whilst delivering a quality product.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a local, small coffee shop inspired by the Australian Coffee Culture. Offering unique Australian coffee and non coffee options. We specialize in offering amazing coffee, we didn’t invent coffee we just made a decision that it shouldn’t taste bad.

Part of our brand is that we want to be “your local”. Meaning when you think of coffee or need coffee we are your local coffee spot, the place that your frequent. A place where you find community and can build genuine relationships whilst enjoying incredible coffee.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
If you are like me and have had a dream or a vision for years, just go for it. Step out and give it a go, you really do miss every shot you don’t take. Believe and trust in yourself, your vision and what you want to achieve. And like my Great Grandpa would always tell me – if you work hard and apply your mind to what you do, you can achieve anything.
