Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Mayeux.
Hi Anna, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Annie Eats started from simply knowing that I feel my best when I eat my best. I’ve had stomach issues since I was very young and dealt with conflicting diagnoses. Some doctors said I had PCOS while others said I had leaky gut and inflammation. To feel better, I wanted to focus on lifestyle solutions rather than medications. Everything became clear once I turned my attention inward, listening to how my body responded to food. When I ate well, my energy, digestion, mood and overall sense of balance improved. When I didn’t eat well, these things declined.
On this journey of healing, I began avoiding triggering ingredients like gluten, excess sugar and seed oils. Because cooking is my love language, I also started posting weekly menus on Instagram so I could share the healthy meals I was cooking for myself and friends. That’s how Austin-area influencer Kara Jones found me. She ordered her first meal kit, shared her experience on TikTok and suddenly my DMs were flooded with women not only wanting to try the meals but also sharing their stories of similar health issues.
I quickly realized how many people needed the service I was offering. Women, especially, want to feel better, but they don’t have the time or energy to cook every meal from scratch, while also avoiding certain ingredients.
My goal is to serve food that is nourishing, seasonal, easy-to-make, delicious and supports hormone balance. At Annie Eats, I create meals that make people feel taken care of in a realistic, sustainable way.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of the biggest challenges came early on when I was looking for solutions to my stomach issues and was given conflicting advice from doctors. That frustration became the foundation of my mission and fueled my mission to help people take control of their health through food and lifestyle. It took time and research for me to figure out what worked, but the journey also inspired me to uncover and create healthy, convenient meal options for others facing similar struggles.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I create hormone-healthy, anti-inflammatory meals that are nutritious and delicious, without gluten, high sugar, or seed oils. These meals are for everyone, but I’m especially proud of how they resonate with women who want to cook healthy but don’t always have the time or resources. More than anything, I’m building a community around nourishment and wellness, a space where women can feel uplifted and supported in taking care of themselves. I’m proud of what I am bringing to the community and so grateful to be able to share!
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I’m extremely motivated and determined, with an entrepreneurial mindset and always looking for opportunities. I’m naturally caring, and I love being able to help take care of other women through what I do. I think creatively and am a problem solver, which shows up in everything from dreaming up new menu ideas to fulfilling orders and troubleshooting on the fly. I think on my feet, pivot when challenges come up, and keep serving my customers in a way that makes me proud. I put a lot of love into Annie Eats, and I hope everyone can feel that.
