Community Highlights: Meet Suzanne Fain of Suze Intuitive Arts

Today we’d like to introduce you to Suzanne Fain.

Hi Suzanne, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was a curious and somewhat sensitive kid, deeply aware of the energy in my environment from an early age. When I was thirteen, my mother introduced me to tarot, astrology, and basic energy awareness — things like noticing the subtle sensation between my hands. Tarot, in particular, captured me. I loved how the cards told stories, reflected inner landscapes, and offered perspective rather than rigid answers. It became a quiet companion and a tool for understanding long before I ever imagined sharing it publicly.

For many years, this work remained personal. In 2019, I intentionally deepened my connection to my intuitive gifts through workshops and training, and in early 2020 I took a trip to Sedona — just before the world shut down. Something crystallized for me there. I felt very clearly that this wasn’t a gift meant to stay private, and that my role was to share it in a way that felt ethical, grounded, and genuinely supportive.

From the beginning, it has been important to me to practice with care. Unfortunately, there are spaces within the spiritual industry where fear, dependency, or constant upselling are used to take advantage of people who are vulnerable or seeking. I never wanted to be part of that. My intention has always been to help people navigate transitions, healing, and moments of uncertainty with clarity and respect — not to sell answers or create reliance. I aim to be a steady presence, someone who listens deeply and reflects truth with compassion.

After beginning my professional tarot practice, I pursued formal training as a Reiki Master, rooted in the Usui lineage. Reiki added an essential layer to my work, allowing me to support clients not only through insight but through energetic healing as well. Every space I work in is intentionally blessed with Reiki, and I incorporate it into both sessions and daily life. With clients, this has allowed me to help release emotional blocks, stored trauma, and, in some cases, support physical healing.

Today, I practice tarot and Reiki primarily in Bastrop, while regularly traveling throughout Central Texas. I read in East Austin several times a year, often at The Front Page Pub in Springdale General, and also host readings at The Empress in New Braunfels. I offer Reiki sessions in Bastrop and make house calls in Austin for clients who need that level of support. I also work events, parties, and fundraisers throughout the area. This work continues to evolve, and I’m currently preparing to launch a small online shop in early spring as another way to share my offerings.

At its core, my path has unfolded naturally and continues to do so — guided by intuition, integrity, and a deep respect for the people who trust me with their stories.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, but it has been an honest one. One of the biggest challenges has been learning how to work intuitively while also staying grounded, clear, and well-boundaried. When you’re sensitive and open, discernment becomes essential — both in how you care for others and how you care for yourself.

Another challenge has been navigating an industry that isn’t always regulated or ethical. Early on, I had to learn how to define my own standards and say no to ways of working that didn’t align with my values, even when they were normalized elsewhere. Choosing integrity over urgency meant growing more slowly at times, but it also meant building trust with clients and with myself.

Burnout has also been a teacher. Holding space for others requires presence, energy, and responsibility, and I’ve had to learn when to pause, recalibrate, and let my work evolve rather than forcing constant output. That learning has shaped how I practice today — with more intention, sustainability, and respect for the rhythm of real life.

Each challenge has refined the work rather than derailed it. The path hasn’t been linear, but it has been steady, and I trust it precisely because it’s asked me to grow alongside it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My work centers on intuitive tarot reading and Reiki-based energy healing, offered in a way that is grounded, welcoming, and deeply human. I specialize in creating calm, intentional spaces where people feel comfortable opening up — whether they’re seasoned with spiritual work or completely new to it. Sessions are conversational and intuitive, allowing insight to unfold naturally rather than feeling scripted or overwhelming.

What I’m most known for is my ability to reflect what’s present with clarity and care. Readings are often described as surprisingly specific, affirming, and deeply resonant — not because I aim to predict outcomes, but because I listen closely to energy, symbolism, and the person in front of me. I view myself as a lantern on someone’s path: not here to tell anyone where to go, but to gently illuminate what’s already there so they can move forward with more trust and confidence.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the sense of safety and ease people consistently experience in my work. Clients often share that they feel seen, welcomed, and supported from the moment they walk in — and that the impact of a session continues to unfold well after it ends. I take my responsibility seriously and make it a point to never rush, upsell, or push interpretations. The work is meant to support clarity, healing, and self-trust, not dependence.

I offer tarot and Reiki sessions in Bastrop. I regularly travel to Austin for events and readings, and provide house-call Reiki sessions for clients who need that level of care. I also work parties, fundraisers, and community gatherings throughout Central Texas, and I’m preparing to launch a small online shop in early spring as another extension of my practice.

What I want readers to know is that my work is intuitive, thoughtful, and approachable. You don’t need prior experience or the “right” question — just curiosity and openness. My role is to meet people where they are, hold steady light, and let the rest unfold in its own time.

How do you define success?
I define success as sustainability — being able to do this work with integrity, care, and presence over the long term. Success isn’t about constant growth or being everywhere at once; it’s about building a practice that supports both my clients and my own well-being.

Success also looks like trust. When people feel safe enough to open up, return when they need support, or refer their loved ones, that tells me the work is landing in a meaningful way. I value depth over volume and would rather do fewer sessions well than rush through many.

On a personal level, success means having the freedom to let the work evolve naturally. If I’m able to stay curious, grounded, and responsive to what’s unfolding — without compromising my values — then I consider that success.
