Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Murdock.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Real estate has been my full-time career for over 11 years, and it has truly been one of the most rewarding journeys of my life. I serve buyers and sellers across Liberty Hill, Leander, Georgetown, Cedar Park, and the greater North Austin area, and getting to grow alongside this community has been incredibly special.
I did not get into real estate just because I liked houses. I got into it because I love helping people. Buying or selling a home is one of the biggest financial and emotional decisions someone can make, and I quickly realized my strengths were in guiding people through those moments with clarity, strategy, and a lot of heart. I focus on building real relationships with my clients so they feel supported, informed, and confident from start to finish.
Over the years, that client-first approach has led to some meaningful milestones. I have been honored as a finalist for the Austin Platinum Top 50 REALTOR Award in 2020-2025, and my team has been recognized as top producers with Magnolia Realty. I was also named among the Austin Top 500 Real Producers. Those recognitions mean a lot, but what matters most to me is the trust my clients place in me and the referrals that come from those relationships.
Today, I live in Liberty Hill with my family, which makes serving this area even more personal. I know the neighborhoods, the growth, the schools, and the lifestyle because this is home for me too. My goal is always the same. I combine market knowledge, strong negotiation skills, and genuine care so my clients can make smart decisions and feel good about them long after closing day.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all. Real estate is an amazing career, but it is not always easy. Especially here in Central Texas, where the market can change quickly, I have had to learn how to stay steady when things feel uncertain. There have been years where inventory was extremely low, times when interest rates shifted fast, and seasons where buyers and sellers were feeling nervous. Guiding people through those moments takes patience, education, and a lot of problem solving.
One of the biggest challenges early on was learning how to balance the emotional side of real estate with the business side. A home is not just a transaction. It is someone’s money, memories, and future all wrapped together. I had to grow in my ability to stay calm under pressure, negotiate confidently, and still lead with empathy.
Another challenge has simply been the pace of growth in our area. Liberty Hill and the surrounding communities have changed so much over the years. Keeping up with new neighborhoods, builders, pricing trends, and development takes constant learning. But that challenge has also become one of my strengths. Staying informed allows me to guide my clients with real, up-to-date knowledge.
There have been long days, deals that fell apart, and moments that tested my patience. But every challenge has helped me become a better advocate for my clients. It has taught me resilience, communication, and how to find solutions even when things get complicated. Those experiences are a big part of why I can confidently lead people through the process today.
As you know, we’re big fans of Jessica Murdock, Realtor. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I run my real estate business with a simple focus, people first, always. I help buyers and sellers throughout Liberty Hill, Leander, Georgetown, Cedar Park, and the greater North Austin area, and I am proud to be part of Magnolia Realty. Over the years, my business has grown mostly through referrals, which means a lot to me. It tells me that clients feel taken care of and trust me enough to send their friends and family my way.
I work with a wide range of clients, from first-time homebuyers to growing families, to sellers who want to maximize their equity. I also have strong experience with new construction and custom homes, which is important in an area like ours that is seeing so much growth. Because I live in the community I serve, I am very familiar with local neighborhoods, schools, market trends, and upcoming development. That local knowledge allows me to guide my clients with both data and real-life perspective.
What sets me apart is how hands-on and relationship-focused my approach is. I am very involved from start to finish, and I believe communication is everything. My clients are never left wondering what is happening or what comes next. I also focus heavily on education. I want people to truly understand their options so they can make confident decisions, not rushed ones.
Brand wise, I am most proud that my business is built on trust and authenticity. I want my brand to feel approachable, honest, and knowledgeable. Real estate can feel overwhelming, and my goal is to make the process feel clear, organized, and even enjoyable when possible. I am proud that people see me as someone who genuinely cares, not just about the transaction, but about their long-term goals.
I want readers to know that when they work with me, they are getting more than an agent opening doors. They are getting an advocate, a strategist, and someone who will be there to answer questions long after closing day. Whether someone is buying their first home, building a custom home, or preparing to sell, my goal is always to help them move forward with confidence.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I think luck plays a role, but I believe preparation and consistency matter more. I do feel lucky to live and work in such a fast-growing area like Liberty Hill and the North Austin communities. Being here during this period of growth has created incredible opportunities for my clients and for my business.
At the same time, real estate teaches you quickly that you cannot rely on luck alone. There have been deals that fell apart unexpectedly, inspections that brought surprises, or market shifts that changed people’s plans overnight. Those moments might feel like bad luck, but they are also part of the business. They have pushed me to be more prepared, more communicative, and better at problem solving.
I also feel lucky because of the people around me. My clients, my family, and the relationships I have built in the community have made a huge difference. Many of my opportunities have come from referrals and connections, and that feels less like random luck and more like the result of showing up consistently and treating people well.
So yes, I feel grateful for the timing and the area I am in, but I am most proud of the work behind the scenes. The education, the long hours, the tough conversations, and the follow-through are what turn opportunity into results. To me, luck might open a door, but hard work and care are what keep it open.
