Meet Cody McGrath of Uplifted Movement & Performance Therapy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cody McGrath.

Cody, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My wife Katelynn and I started Uplifted Movement & Performance Therapy in September of 2023. We had both always talked about one day opening up our own practice but for years that dream seemed far off. We had both been working in other physical therapy practices and had seen the number of patients we were seeing in a day going up and the amount of time we got to spend with our patients going way down. We had finally decided it was time make a change. We had a vision in out heads of what we thought patient care should look like and how we wanted to treat each and every person that walked in our door. We also knew that we wanted to open our practice in Georgetown! And from there Uplifted was born. We believe in serving God by serving others and we do that by providing the highest level of one-on-one, performance based, manual physical therapy around. Uplifted is a team of highly skilled manual physical therapists who prioritize making our patient’s goals our own. We strive to get people feeling better than they were prior to injury and help each person we see crush their movement and activity goals.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As any business owner can tell you, there are always ups and downs along the way but we feel very blessed that we have seen slow but steady growth to this point. We feel that as long as we focus on our true purpose, God will guide us and provide.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Uplifted Movement & Performance Therapy is a performance based, manual physical therapy clinic that specializes in working with active individuals and athletes of all kinds with a special interest in runners and barbell athletes. Our PTs are fellows in manual physical therapy meaning we provide the highest level of hands on care along with a higher level of problem solving and diagnosis of movement related issues. We offer manual therapy, sport specific physical therapy, return from injury care, running gait analysis, and strength and conditioning.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I feel like risk taking is something that all business owners have to gamble with to some extent. Owning and operating a business is definitely no walk in the park. You have to bet on yourself every day, which can be very overwhelming at times, especially because there is the chance that you could fail or things won’t work out how you think.
