Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsie Davis.
Lindsie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In 2018, I founded Blueberry Jones Design after transitioning from a career in art education, with the vision of creating a thoughtful, highly personalized studio deeply involved in both the building and furnishing process from concept to completion.
Over the years, I’ve intentionally crafted a firm rooted in strong collaboration, working closely with architects, builders, and vendors, while cultivating meaningful client relationships. Today, I am proud not only of the beautiful homes created, but also of the company and thoughtful process behind them.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey has certainly presented its share of challenges. One of the most significant hurdles has been mastering time management as both a business owner and a designer. In the early stages, it is tempting to accept every opportunity- every request, meeting, call leading to a situation where I was finding myself reacting to my calendar rather than proactively managing it.
Striking a balance between maintaining creative momentum and fulfilling the operational responsibilities of running a business requires deliberate effort. For me, the implementation of time blocking has proven transformative, along with the strategic scheduling of meetings and site visits on designated days, thereby safeguarding my focused design time.
Ultimately, learning to take control of my calendar, rather than allowing it to dictate my schedule, has been a crucial shift in fostering both successful projects and a healthy work-life balance.
We’ve been impressed with Blueberry Jones Design , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Blueberry Jones Design is an interiors firm founded by Principal Designer Lindsie Davis, specializing in high-end full-service residential design. Known for crafting whimsical yet refined interiors where function leads and personality follows. Rooted in boldness and creative freedom, Lindsie’s background in art brings a fearless mix of color, pattern, and texture to each space, resulting in environments that feel as dynamic as they are livable.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Networking is incredibly important, and honestly, it’s something I’m still intentionally working on, especially as an introvert. It doesn’t always come naturally, but I’ve learned that growth rarely happens in isolation.
Joining professional organizations is a great starting point, but what’s made the biggest difference for me is simply not being afraid to ask questions. I’m constantly learning from architects, builders, vendors, trades, and other designers, and that curiosity has been one of my greatest tools.
The best advice I can give is to keep putting yourself out there. Stay open, stay curious, and don’t hesitate to ask thoughtful questions. That willingness to learn from others is one of the fastest ways to grow in your craft and build meaningful connections along the way.
