Today we’d like to introduce you to Becki Womble.

Hi Becki, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Becki Womble’s journey from Abilene, TX to becoming a leading figure in Central Texas’s business community is marked by dedication, innovation, and leadership. At the same time ingrained with a respect for history as a third generation Chamber leader. For these reasons, she has not only been commissioned as a Yellow Rose of Texas by Governor Greg Abbott, received a Congressional Patriot Award and is the 2025 Art Roberts Award Winner.

Growing up in Abilene, Becki graduated from Abilene Cooper High School before pursuing higher education at Texas Tech University and ultimately earning her BBA from Hardin-Simmons University with a minor in Marketing.

She actively volunteered with the Abilene Chamber of Commerce, and she was recognized as Ambassador of the Year in 1995. She is also a graduate of Leadership Abilene.

In 2008, Becki and her husband made the move to Lockhart, TX, driven by the rapid growth of Central Texas and the new opportunities it presented. It was here that Becki began her Chamber career at the Lockhart Chamber of Commerce, where she was pivotal in launching several initiatives aimed at enhancing membership engagement. A major achievement during this time was the comprehensive 2012 overhaul of the Lockhart Chamber of Commerce website, which included the creation of individual member pages, an interactive directory, and a community calendar.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing truly worthwhile comes without challenges, and my journey has certainly included its share. Our family moved communities several times, and each transition meant starting over—building relationships, earning trust, and finding our place again. That is never easy, but each time we stepped out in faith, God provided and blessed us in ways we couldn’t have planned ourselves.

Choosing to stay home to raise our sons was another season that felt, at times, like a pause in my professional life. Yet looking back, I see it was never a setback—it was an investment. Watching them grow, thrive, and become who they are today has been one of my greatest blessings, and I truly believe God honored that decision.

When I returned to the workforce, beginning a career in the Chamber of Commerce world was both exciting and challenging. I had to learn quickly, stretch myself, and grow into the role. I often say I “cut my teeth” in Lockhart, where I gained invaluable experience and discovered a deep passion for serving businesses and communities. So when the opportunity opened in Bastrop, it felt unmistakably clear—God didn’t just open the door, He threw it wide open. And I knew I was exactly where I was meant to be.

As you know, we’re big fans of Bastrop Chamber of Commerce. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
The Bastrop Regional Chamber of Commerce is the central hub for business and community across Bastrop County. With more than a century of local leadership and 5-Star U.S. Chamber Accreditation, it operates at a national standard while staying grounded in the region’s heritage.

The Chamber brings people, businesses and partners together, offering clear guidance, strong advocacy and practical support. It helps local businesses – big and small – navigate growth, supports major employers in shaping the region’s future and welcomes newcomers with warmth and clarity.

With a shift toward a regional identity, a modernized brand and a more strategic digital presence, the Chamber is positioned to become the most trusted, approachable and forward-looking business leader in Central Texas.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is creating meaningful connections that strengthen our business community. I’m most fulfilled when I can “connect the dots” for someone—whether that’s introducing a business owner to the right resource, linking partners for a collaboration, or helping a community member find exactly who they need. Over time, I’ve built a strong network of relationships, and people often reach out because they know I can point them in the right direction. Bringing people together to support one another and grow our community gives me a deep sense of purpose and accomplishment.
