Meet Jeffrey Fry of Downtown Austin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeffrey Fry.

Hi Jeffrey, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hum, in my life in my company?

I will do my company.. essentially had to take care of my mother, found how little caregivers get paid, and planned to fix it. It started 10 years ago, and here we are paying caregivers 2/3s of what we charge clients and franchising this across America.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Biggest obstacles have been dealing with disruptive and greedy partners. Had to make a few pivots along the way, but invented something that helps those who cannot help themselves.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Started as an electrical engineer with my first job in Midland, Texas. Nope, not oil, but working for Texas Instruments. Worked my way up to senior management, left TI then worked by Fairchild, Harris (now Intersil), Phillips (now NXP) and AMD, then Synopsys. Started my first of 10 startups when I returned to Austin in 2000.

What I do better than anybody is making money and seeing the future that has already happen. Although an EE, I seem to be really good at branding, marketing, sales and being creative.

Most proud of my latest creation, Keep Safe Care.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Never giving up and the ability to pivot when necessary. Also, constant learning and surrounding myself with extremely capable people.
