Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I grew up right here in Austin, so this city has always been home for me. Even when my wife and I were living out in San Diego for those four years, we always knew we would find our way back. We finally made the move in 2024 and coming home really sparked something in me.
I spent about ten years in the corporate world. While I learned a lot, I reached a point where I wanted to build something from the ground up and take full responsibility for the results. I wanted to see the direct impact I was making on my community and create something I could truly call my own. This was a transition I had been thinking about for a long time.
Once we got settled back in, I started noticing how hard it was to find local service companies that actually followed through. There was a huge gap when it came to high-end home management and cleaning. Either the quality was not there or the communication was non-existent. I realized I could take a high-end approach by simply showing up on time, being obsessed with the details, and actually picking up the phone. Now we are focused on giving Austin homes that extra level of care and making sure our clients never have to wonder if the job is going to be done right.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Taking that leap of faith to go out on my own was daunting. It actually took me years to get comfortable with the idea of leaving the corporate world behind. You can read every book there is on entrepreneurship, but real-life experience is the only way you actually learn. There are so many details that pop up along the way that you would never even think of until you are in the thick of it.
The learning curve has been huge. I have had to navigate everything from cash flow and marketing to really figuring out the nuances of what our customers expect. Hiring has easily been the biggest challenge. Because our quality standards are so high, finding the right people who share that same level of care is difficult.
Beyond the logistics, the mental side has been just as tough. Having the patience to trust myself and the process is something I work on every day. It is a constant cycle of learning and adjusting, but that is exactly what I signed up for when I decided to build this.
We’ve been impressed with Koa Cleaning Services, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We focus on high-end home management and cleaning for people who expect things to be done right the first time. We specialize in those detailed, high-end touches that most companies overlook. Whether it is a deep clean or ongoing home management, we are known for being the team that actually follows through.
What really sets us apart is the professionalism we brought over from the corporate world. In this industry, people are used to being ghosted or having to deal with inconsistent quality. We changed that by making communication and quality assurance our top priorities. We show up when we say we will and we handle the details so our clients do not have to.
I am most proud of the fact that we have built a brand based on execution. We are not just another cleaning service. We are a high-touch home management partner. I want readers to know that if they are looking for a company that values their time and their home as much as they do, that is exactly why we started this.
Any big plans?
We are constantly learning and making adjustments based on what our clients tell us. We really value their feedback because it helps us see exactly what people are looking for and where we can improve. For 2026, we are planning to grow our cleaning services to include things that naturally go together like carpet cleaning, exterior windows, and specialized deep cleans for tile or bathrooms.
Right now, we are focused on being that trusted partner here in Austin, but we are also starting to look at other areas like Fredericksburg, Driftwood, and Lakeway. We are shifting a lot of our focus toward West Austin because that is where we can really lean into what we do best. We want to be the first name people think of for high-end home management and cleaning.
Beyond our own services, we are also looking to partner with other local businesses we can support. Whether that is working with realtor groups or property management teams, we want to build a network that helps everyone succeed. It is an exciting time to be growing and we are looking forward to seeing how the business continues to adapt to what our neighbors actually need.
