Today we’d like to introduce you to Steven Kennedy.
Hi Steven, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve been in the appliance industry for years. And 10 years ago we had our son, Hunter and soon found out that he was autistic. While trying to navigate that path and realizing how expensive it was we found out quick that we couldn’t afford all the services that he needed. We were barely able to say that we were living paycheck to paycheck. So we started That Appliance Guy. We started with home warranty companies and of course any customer that called in. We soon learned that home warranties were a joke and moved over to property management. Today we are going strong, but it is not always like this. I still have to put boots on the ground and go get more clients in slow times. But being in recover for over 17 tears has taught me to be persistent and have a level of integrity to my customers that will allow me to come back and for them to tell their friends.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Smooth?? ITs been a long road! Long days, long nights, long weekends. The only real struggle I would say is not giving credit were credit is due. How quick we forget that what we have today is something that we’ve asked for months, or years ago. The times that I view that this is my company and not God’s is were I get into trouble.

We services most major brand appliances, replace appliances, do installs, and move out inspections. We also do dryer duct cleanings on homes and commercial properties. I think what I am most proud of is our team. Our senior service tech Christian goes above and beyond like myself to ensure that the job is done right the first time. And christine in the office provides the best customer serrvice to our customers and tenants.
What’s next?
Well there is always the hope of growth and success. But I have learned to take one day at a time and to keep it simple.

My wife christine runs the office and handles all the scheduling. Christian is our senior tech who I trained from the beginning of his career. And of course our son Hunter who is the driving force for our company!!
