Inspiring Conversations with Adam Everson of Local Loop, Inc

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Everson.

Adam, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Where do I begin? I have been in sales, marketing, and business development for going on two decades. In that timeframe I have seen a massive disconnect and gaping void for small local businesses and nonprofits. The majority of small businesses are operating on a very tight budget and local nonprofits simply cannot afford proper marketing and community outreach because it would pull funds away from critical missions.

Why is it that the nonprofits & locally owned businesses in every community are continually fighting to stay relevant in crowded markets against major corporations with 10x to 100x their marketing budget? They simply cannot compete through traditional means. Digital advertising through the likely suspects such as Google Ads, Meta Ads, and PPC/SEO/AEO campaigns reward those that are willing to and can afford to empty their coffers in order to grow their business. The scary truth is that roughly 71% of these marketing campaigns fail to meet expectations or see an ROI. This method is simply not sustainable on a finite budget.

I set out to solve this problem. Small businesses need branding, need to be seen, and need affordability. Nonprofits need to be seen, and need engagement within the community. Enter Local Loop ATX.

We have partnered with countless local businesses in the Austin where we install our community facing digital screens. On these screens you will see videos advertisements promoting local charities and nonprofit organizations within the community. Highlighting upcoming events, fundraising opportunities and community engagement for those doing incredible things behind closed doors. We provide our nonprofits with 100% free marketing services and custom digital advertising throughout the community.

Additionally on these screens you will find videos highlighting, thanking, and providing recognition to the businesses in the community that make this all possible – our hosts and donor partners. Without their unyielding support we wouldn’t have a network of screens and we wouldn’t have funds to provide these amazing organizations.

Local businesses partner with Local Loop by joining one of our voluntary donor membership tiers. As their monthly donation commitments are received we in turn do two things:

1. We create impactful videos highlighting the generous and community centric businesses that are continually supporting the community. This shows hundreds of thousands of locals the trustworthy business that actually care.
2. We take that revenue and ‘pay it forward’ by giving the majority of the donations made to local loop to fund our partnering 501(c)(3) non profit organizations. Example: if ABC Company pays us $1000/mo we then pay up to 85% of that revenue to our partnering non profits.
3. We have created a sustainable funding system for nonprofits that equally transforms a local business’s marketing budget into 100% tax deductible charitable contribution.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
That’s a loaded question. Is anything in life, or business every truly smooth? Don’t get me wrong, we have certainly had our smooth moments and big wins, however as a fairly new organization with an innovative and brand new concept we run into our fair share of problems.

It would be simple to claim we have funding issues, as 99% of local nonprofits are wildly underfunded. However, our biggest hurdle is being able to immediately educate local businesses on how our process works in it’s entirety.

Despite our relatively simple concept it can appear complex to those that haven’t taken the time to have a conversation with our team and/or see it first hand at one of our our host locations.

It takes direct conversations, speaking engagements, trust, and impactful presentations for Local Loop to really drive our mission home. We need to have more opportunities like this in order to get in front of larger amounts of local business leaders.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Local Loop, Inc?
For most nonprofits, one of the greatest challenges isn’t passion or purpose. It’s visibility. Incredible organizations are doing life-changing work in Austin communities every day, yet many operate with limited marketing budgets and rely heavily on one-time donations or seasonal fundraisers to stay afloat. At the same time, local businesses are investing thousands of dollars each month into advertising, often hoping their message reaches the right audience.

Local Loop ATX was created to connect these two realities.

Through a growing network of digital community screens placed inside high-traffic local businesses like restaurants, coffee shops, medical offices, barbershops/salons and other everyday gathering places; Local Loop is building a platform that gives nonprofits something they rarely receive: consistent, free exposure to their own community.

These screens highlight local nonprofit missions, promote upcoming fundraising events, showcase volunteer opportunities, and celebrate community initiatives. Instead of organizations competing for attention online, they are placed directly in front of people who live, work, and spend time in the community every day.

But visibility is only part of the equation.

Local Loop also introduces a new way to generate support — passive funding through local marketing. Businesses that advertise across the Local Loop network are able to redirect part of their marketing investment toward supporting local charities. In other words, the same dollars that would normally be spent solely on advertising can now help fund the organizations working to improve the community.

The result is a model designed around what Local Loop calls a “win-win-win.”

For nonprofits, it means free marketing, event promotion, and a sustainable stream of funding without the constant pressure of organizing new fundraising campaigns.

For local businesses, it means effective marketing combined with meaningful community impact by strengthening brand trust and demonstrating genuine local commitment to the customers they serve every day.

And for the community itself, it creates awareness and connection. Residents discover local causes they might never have heard of, learn about upcoming events, and see firsthand how local businesses are investing back into the neighborhoods that support them.

At its core, Local Loop is built on a simple idea: when communities make it easier for generosity, visibility, and business to work together, everyone benefits.

By turning everyday marketing into a tool for community development, Local Loop is helping create a future where supporting local nonprofits isn’t just an occasional act of generosity it becomes a built-in part of how local economies operate.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Don’t hesitate. Don’t be scared. Take a chance. If you are doing something that you truly believe in….and if you’re providing a service or product that people truly need or can help…. do it before somebody else does it.

Too many people have brilliant ideas, and concepts but hesitate to take the first step. My biggest advice, however, is do not be afraid to ask for help. You don’t need to know everything about business, about taxes, about marketing, about finance…. you just need to know your product/service and leverage the help of those around you. Too many times people try to do everything on their own when they can and should enlist experts in particular fields. We need to remain mission critical and build a community of experts and supporters around your ideas and concepts in order to build sustainability.

I wish I knew the importance of the community and relationships that I have built on day one. I once thought that I needed to be the jack of all trades – master of none….. however I’ve learned through lessons from failure that being the expert in my category and building a team of supporters has been exponentially more rewarding.
