My journey into technology began with a deep curiosity about how systems work and how they can be improved to solve real-world problems. I pursued a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Toledo, where I developed a strong foundation in building scalable and intelligent systems. Early in my career, I worked across various stages of the Software Development Life Cycle, gaining hands-on experience in modernizing legacy applications, designing microservices, and implementing cloud-based solutions.
As I progressed, I became increasingly interested in the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. This led me to focus on integrating AI/ML into enterprise systems to enhance performance, enable predictive insights, and drive smarter decision-making. Alongside my role as a Senior Application Engineer, I co-founded Technolance IT Services, where I now serve as CEO.
At Technolance, I lead a global team of engineers, delivering tailored, data-driven solutions for clients across industries. My work involves not only solving complex technical challenges but also shaping strategy—leveraging AI/ML, cloud technologies, and automation to unlock business value. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work on everything from CI/CD automation and secure API design to Kubernetes-based deployments and performance optimization using AI-powered tools.
Today, my focus is on pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with AI in software engineering—helping organizations modernize, scale, and innovate. My journey has been driven by continuous learning, adaptability, and a passion for building impactful technology solutions that make a meaningful difference.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road—like most meaningful journeys, it’s come with its share of challenges. Early in my career, one of the biggest hurdles was navigating the complexity of legacy systems while trying to introduce modern architectures. Balancing stability with innovation required both technical depth and patience.
As I grew into leadership roles and eventually co-founded Technolance IT Services, the challenges evolved. Building and managing a global team across different time zones brought its own set of difficulties—communication gaps, coordination issues, and ensuring alignment on complex AI/ML projects. Leading diverse teams also meant continuously adapting my leadership style to bring out the best in everyone.
Another significant challenge has been staying ahead in a rapidly changing technology landscape. AI and machine learning are evolving quickly, and integrating them effectively into real-world business solutions requires constant learning, experimentation, and sometimes dealing with uncertainty when outcomes aren’t guaranteed.
There were also moments of pressure balancing dual responsibilities—working as a Senior Application Engineer while leading a company. It required strong time management, prioritization, and resilience.
That said, each of these challenges has been a learning opportunity. They’ve helped me grow not just as an engineer, but as a leader—shaping my ability to think strategically, adapt quickly, and remain focused on delivering meaningful impact despite obstacles.
