Today we’d like to introduce you to Augusto & Veronica Fossi.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
UpHill Taps started a little unexpectedly, but it grew out of two things we’ve always loved: bringing people together and creating memorable experiences around drinks.
My husband and I moved to Austin and quickly fell in love with the event and wedding industry here. We started noticing how much the bar experience can shape the atmosphere of an event. It’s not just about serving drinks, it’s about creating a moment where guests gather, connect, and celebrate.
What began as a small idea quickly turned into a real business. We invested in our first mobile bar setup and started serving weddings and private events. From the beginning, our goal was to offer something that felt a little more thoughtful and elevated than the typical bar service, beautiful presentation, fresh ingredients, curated menus, and an experience that felt intentional.
Over time, UpHill Taps has grown into a premium mobile bar service working with couples, planners, and brands across Central Texas. We’ve expanded our offerings, refined our packages, and built strong relationships within the event community.
Today, we focus on creating bar experiences that feel personal, stylish, and seamless for our clients. It’s been incredibly rewarding to see the business grow from an idea into something that’s part of so many meaningful celebrations.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a perfectly smooth road, but that’s part of building any small business.
Because I come from a professional event planning background, I had a strong understanding of the event industry from the start. I knew how important logistics, timing, and guest experience are to a successful event, and that perspective helped shape the way we built UpHill Taps.
That said, starting a mobile bar business still came with plenty of learning curves. There were a lot of operational pieces to figure out equipment, permitting, transportation, inventory, staffing, and making sure everything runs seamlessly on event day. We also had to learn how to scale the business while maintaining the elevated experience we want every client to have.
Another challenge has been building brand recognition in a very competitive market. Austin has an incredible event community, so establishing relationships with planners, venues, and clients took time and consistency.
However, my experience as a planner has also been one of our biggest advantages. We understand what planners and couples need because we’ve been in their position. We know how important communication, reliability, and thoughtful details are, and we try to bring that mindset to every event we serve.
Like most entrepreneurs, we’ve had to wear many hats along the way, but each challenge has helped us refine our systems and grow the business into something we’re really proud of today.
We’ve been impressed with UpHill Taps , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
UpHill Taps is a premium mobile bar service based in Texas, specializing in curated bar experiences for weddings, private celebrations, and brand events. Our focus has always been to go beyond simply serving drinks, we aim to create an experience that feels thoughtful, elevated, and memorable for both hosts and guests.
Because I come from a professional event planning background, we approach the bar from a planner’s perspective. That means we’re always thinking about logistics, flow, guest experience, and how the bar integrates into the overall design of the event. We work closely with planners, couples, and brands to ensure the bar is not just functional but also part of the aesthetic and atmosphere of the celebration.
What we’re most known for is our attention to detail and the level of care we bring to each event. From curated cocktail menus and fresh ingredients to beautiful bar styling and thoughtful presentation, we focus on creating a bar experience that feels intentional and aligned with the overall vision of the event.
What sets us apart is that balance between hospitality and design. We want the bar to feel seamless, visually beautiful, and genuinely welcoming for guests. Whether it’s a wedding, a milestone celebration, or a brand activation, our goal is always the same: to create a space where people gather, celebrate, and enjoy a great drink together.
Brand-wise, what I’m most proud of is the reputation we’ve built for reliability, professionalism, and collaboration within the event community. We care deeply about the experience we provide and the relationships we build with planners, venues, and clients. At the end of the day, UpHill Taps exists to help elevate celebrations and make those moments even more memorable.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5–10 years, I think the event and bar industry will continue shifting toward more intentional and experience-driven hospitality. The bar is no longer just a place to grab a drink, it’s becoming part of the overall design and atmosphere of an event.
One of the biggest trends is a focus on quality over quantity, with curated cocktail menus, premium ingredients, and a bar experience that feels more personalized to the celebration. We’re also seeing a growing demand for mocktails and zero-proof options, as more guests are choosing to drink less or not drink alcohol at all but still want something thoughtful and beautifully crafted.
Another shift is how the bar integrates into the event experience. Hosts and planners are looking for setups that are visually appealing, interactive, and that encourage guests to gather and connect.
Overall, the industry is moving toward more elevated, inclusive, and guest-focused experiences, which is something we’re really excited to continue being part of.
