Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyle Mylius.
Hi Kyle , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Tin Top Burgers and Ice Cream was founded by 4 friends; myself, Lindsey Belk, Chase Piedfort, and Evan Styles. Several of us worked together in the industry at my first restaurant, Root Cellar Cafe. We knew that we had what it took to create the perfect, old-school burger joint complete with homemade Ice Cream. Chase was a classically trained chef that brought his expertise to the menu creating some of the most exciting flavor profiles I have ever tasted on a burger! We set out to convert the 100 year old house a stone’s throw from the beautiful Comal River into what is now considered a top burger joint in the state of Texas.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
A restaurant’s path is never a smooth one in my opinion. This is as challenging an industry as there is. We have had many struggles along the way. Quality, persistence, kindness, and consistency will always win out though if you have the stamina to see it through.

We are a classic burger joint featuring fresh patties, from scratch sauces, and homemade ice cream. We are very proud to have been named one of the top 50 burgers in the state of Texas by Texas Highways Magazine. Ultimately we are most proud of the experiences that we create. To do this job at a high level, you ultimately must love making people happy. We love to compliment the amazing food with a warm, comfortable, and extremely friendly environment. We go above and beyond to make all who come to Tin Top feel welcome.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
It is always about solid communication. Communication between partners, employees, our guests. Most problems arise when we have failed to communicate clearly and openly.
