Check Out Michael Evans’ Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Evans.

Hi Michael, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Rucking Realty Group started as a culmination of my journey through service, hard work, and a desire to help others. At 17, I joined the Marines as an infantryman serving a couple combat deployments overseas. Afterward, I helped a buddy launch a construction company in North Carolina. My path then took me through earning an associate degree in science, working in the oil fields of North Dakota, and gaining experience in property management, landscaping, and construction. Each role taught me the value of hard work and adaptability.

In 2018, my wife and I moved from Montana to Texas, settling in San Antonio. Since then, we’ve purchased two homes here, and our firsthand experience with multiple moves has given us a deep understanding of the process and challenges our clients face.

A few years ago, when my back gave out, I had to rethink how to provide for my family. My wife, who knew I’d been talking about real estate for years, encouraged me to dive in. Once I did, it took off. My ability to read people, combined with a genuine desire to help them through one of the biggest decisions of their lives, set the foundation for our success.

Real estate, to me, is about more than transactions; it’s about guiding people through a complex process with care and dedication. Along the way, I’ve also had the privilege of supporting veterans and veteran non-profits here in Texas, which has been incredibly rewarding.

One day, while rucking in the mountains, it hit me: what I do in real estate is a lot like climbing a mountain, overcoming obstacles, carrying the weight for my clients, and helping them reach the summit. It’s about making their journey as smooth as possible, with us shouldering the stress so they don’t have to.

Today, Rucking Realty Group is thriving. My wife recently got her license and now handles a lot of our back-office work, drawing from her 13 years in HR to streamline our processes. Together, we’re committed to treating every client like family and carrying the load so they can focus on their dreams.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I think that’s what makes the journey meaningful. Anyone who says real estate is easy is blowing smoke, because there’s so much more to it than meets the eye. From the outside, people see the highlights, the successful deals, the polished posts, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

Behind the scenes, it takes a lot of time, dedication, grit, and above all, patience. You’re dealing with multiple parties, clients, other realtors, lenders, inspectors, each with their own challenges. When you’re juggling multiple transactions, it can get complicated fast.

The transition wasn’t just about learning a new industry; it was about balancing a demanding career with family life and maintaining the integrity of our mission. Those struggles, though, have ultimately shaped the way we operate, with a focus on trust, consistency, and always showing up for our clients when it matters most.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At Rucking Realty Group, we specialize in helping buyers, sellers, and investors navigate real estate with clarity and confidence. We’ve built a strong reputation for being hands-on and fully invested, particularly with military families, out-of-state clients, and first-time buyers who need someone they can truly rely on.

We don’t just guide our clients, we carry the weight of the process with them. From detailed video walkthroughs to handling unexpected challenges, we take on the stress so our clients can focus on their goals.

What sets us apart is that we treat every transaction like a mission. There’s a clear objective, and we do whatever it takes to get our clients to the finish line the right way. We’re most proud of the trust we’ve earned and the lasting relationships that continue long after the deal is done.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was outgoing, upbeat, and always drawn to challenges. I loved staying active and spending time outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, riding my bike, or playing football, I thrived on being outside and staying busy.

Personality-wise, I was positive and always looking for the next adventure. I wasn’t just about having fun, though, I had a strong sense of responsibility and took pride in doing things the right way, just like my dad taught me: “If you want something done right, do it yourself.” That mindset of hard work, integrity, and helping others has been a constant thread through my life, shaping who I am today.
