Hi Taylor, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve had a love for photography for as long as I can remember. I got my first camera at just 10 years old, and from that point on, I was always the one documenting moments. In 2016, I really started taking photography more seriously, spending any free time I had shooting with friends, experimenting, and learning as much as I could.
At the same time, I also spent several years in front of the camera, modeling from about age 14 to 21. That experience gave me a unique perspective, because I understand both sides. The vulnerability of being photographed and the responsibility of being the one capturing those moments. It’s something that still shapes the way I work with my clients today.
Over time, I found myself naturally drawn to love stories, couples, engagements, weddings, and all the milestones that follow. A big part of that comes from my own relationship. My husband and I have been together for 13 years, and while we never had a big wedding ourselves, we’ve always deeply appreciated the beauty in those moments.
Today, we actually work together as a husband and wife team, which allows us to experience weddings in a really special way, we don’t just see the couple, we notice the quiet, meaningful interactions between family and friends, the in-between moments, and the emotion that often goes unnoticed. That perspective has become the heart of my work.
As my business evolved, I wanted it to reflect more than just photography, it needed to represent the feeling behind it. That’s how Whispering Willow Collective came to life. “Whispering” represents the quiet, intimate moments of love. “Willow,” inspired by my favorite tree, reflects beauty, softness, and intimacy. And “Collective” speaks to the full experience we offer – photography, planning services, content creation, and custom touches that allow us to serve our clients in a more intentional and meaningful way.
While my work is rooted in documenting love and connection, I also serve clients through other meaningful seasons, whether that’s senior sessions, fresh 48s, branding, or other life milestones, allowing me to continue telling stories as they grow.
Today, my focus is not just capturing images, but creating an experience where people feel seen, comfortable, and genuinely themselves. Every step of the journey is rooted in connection, storytelling, and preserving the moments that matter most.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Like many small business owners, it hasn’t always been a completely smooth road, especially in the beginning. When I first started, I was still finding my groove, experimenting with different styles, and trying to figure out where I truly fit within the industry.
One of the biggest challenges was identifying my niche and attracting the right clients. I said yes to a lot in those early stages, which was necessary for growth, but it also took time to understand what I genuinely loved and where I thrived creatively. Learning how to balance creativity with the business side of things, pricing, boundaries, and building a brand, was also a learning curve.
Over time, those challenges really shaped the direction of my business. As I became more confident in my style and more intentional about the experience I wanted to create, I started attracting the clients who truly aligned with my vision. That shift made everything feel more natural and fulfilling.
Even now, I believe there’s always room to grow, but each phase has brought clarity and purpose. The challenges were never setbacks, they were stepping stones that helped me build something more meaningful and aligned with who I am.

I’m a photographer and creative behind Whispering Willow Collective, where I specialize in capturing love stories primarily engagements, weddings, and the meaningful milestones that follow. My work is rooted in storytelling, focusing on genuine emotion, connection, and the in-between moments that often go unnoticed.
What I’m most known for is creating an experience that feels natural and comfortable for my clients. Because I’ve spent time both behind and in front of the camera, I’m very intentional about how I guide people, I want them to feel confident, at ease, and truly themselves. That’s where the most meaningful images come from.
One of the things that sets my business apart is that my husband and I work together as a team. This allows us to capture multiple perspectives throughout a wedding day while also being fully present in different moments as they unfold. It creates a more complete and intentional story for our clients, and it’s something that makes the experience feel even more personal.
Beyond photography, Whispering Willow Collective was built to be more of a full-service experience. We offer planning support, content creation, and custom elements that help bring our clients’ vision to life in a cohesive and thoughtful way. It allows us to serve them beyond just the photos and be part of the entire journey.
What I’m most proud of is the trust my clients place in me and the relationships that come from it. Being invited into such meaningful seasons of people’s lives is something I never take lightly.
