Check Out Lindsey Allen’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Allen.

Hi Lindsey , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I never set out to start a glitter business.

My background is actually in education. I earned my Master’s degree and spent years working as a teacher before realizing I wanted to build something of my own. I’ve always been drawn to creating experiences that bring people together, and after seeing how much joy, confidence, and connection something as simple as a little sparkle could create at events, The Glitter Bar was born.

What started as a small side business quickly grew into something much bigger. I saw an opportunity to elevate the concept beyond face glitter and transform it into a luxury guest experience. Today, The Glitter Bar specializes in immersive adornment activations for weddings, galas, corporate events, festivals, and private celebrations. We create custom experiences featuring cosmetic glitter, shimmer, crystals, temporary tattoos, florals, and other artistic embellishments designed to complement each event’s aesthetic and create unforgettable guest interactions.

Over the years, we’ve expanded from local events to producing activations across New England, Texas, Colorado, and destinations throughout the United States. One of the things I’m most proud of is building a team of talented artists and creating a brand that feels equally at home at a luxury wedding, a nonprofit gala, or a major corporate event.

Like many entrepreneurs, the journey hasn’t always been straightforward. There have been challenges, pivots, long nights, and plenty of learning experiences along the way. But every event reminds me why I started. I love creating moments that make people feel celebrated, confident, playful, and connected. Watching a guest light up after looking in the mirror or seeing a dance floor full of people wearing glitter they received at our bar never gets old.

At its core, The Glitter Bar isn’t really about glitter. It’s about creating experiences people remember long after the event is over.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like most entrepreneurial journeys, it definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road.

One of the biggest challenges was building a business in a category that didn’t really exist. When people first hear “The Glitter Bar,” they often assume it’s simply face painting or a novelty station. A large part of my journey has been educating clients, planners, and venues on what we actually provide: a luxury, interactive guest experience that functions as entertainment, activation, and experiential design all at once.

Scaling the business has also come with its share of challenges. As demand grew, I had to learn how to recruit, train, and manage artist teams across multiple states while maintaining a consistent level of service and quality. What works when you’re personally handling every event becomes much more complex when you’re coordinating teams, travel logistics, inventory, and events happening simultaneously across the country.

Like many small business owners, I’ve also experienced the uncertainty that comes with entrepreneurship. There have been seasons of rapid growth and exciting opportunities, as well as moments where I questioned whether I was making the right decisions. Learning to navigate cash flow, marketing, hiring, and business development while still delivering exceptional client experiences has been a constant education.

At the same time, those challenges have been some of my greatest teachers. They’ve pushed me to become more resilient, more creative, and more confident in the value of what we offer. Looking back now, every obstacle helped shape The Glitter Bar into the company it is today. What started as a small idea has grown into a multi-state luxury event business, and I’m incredibly proud of how far we’ve come.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the Founder and Creative Director of The Glitter Bar, a luxury experiential entertainment company specializing in interactive adornment activations for weddings, galas, corporate events, festivals, and private celebrations.

While our name includes the word “glitter,” what we create goes far beyond traditional face glitter. We design immersive guest experiences that combine beauty, artistry, fashion, and entertainment. Our artists work with cosmetic-grade glitter, shimmer, crystals, temporary tattoos, florals, and custom embellishments to create personalized looks that complement each event’s aesthetic and atmosphere. This can also include custom “menus” for larger events for guests to choose from. Whether we’re activating a luxury wedding after-party, a nonprofit gala, or a large-scale corporate event, our goal is always the same: to create memorable moments that bring people together and elevate the energy of the celebration.

What I’m most proud of is transforming a simple concept into a recognized luxury brand that serves clients across the country. We’ve grown from local events to producing activations throughout New England, Texas, Colorado, and destination locations nationwide. Along the way, we’ve built an incredible team of artists who share a passion for creativity, artistry, hospitality, and guest experience. Find these artists has been a blessing and I’m so grateful for their patience and flexibility with me as I learn, expand, change and grow to be the best version of The Glitter Bar.

I believe what sets us apart is our approach to design and storytelling. Every Glitter Bar aesthetic is customized to feel like a natural extension of the event rather than a generic vendor setup. We pay close attention to the overall aesthetic, guest flow, and energy of the celebration so that the experience feels intentional, elevated, and cohesive. At the end of the day, we’re not simply applying glitter, we’re creating connection, conversation, confidence, and joy. Those are the moments guests remember long after the event ends, and that’s what continues to inspire me every day.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love most about Dallas is its space for entrepreneurs and larger than life personality. It’s a city full of people who go big or go home, and we like that! There is an incredible energy around artists, event professionals, and innovators that makes it a very inspiring place to grow a company. Many of The Glitter Bar’s earliest opportunities came from people who were willing to take a chance on a new concept (shout out to The Star!) which is always the green light we need to grow, expand, and show Dallas what we’ve got as a business.

What I like least is probably how huge Dallas is and how overwhelming that can feel in the wedding space/immersive activation space where we live. We really have to work hard everyday to get ourselves known, constantly doing outreach and optimizing how best to share what The Glitter Bar has to offer.
