Today we’d like to introduce you to Breanna Jackson.
Hi Breanna, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started so many times but it was something I really wanted to do just didn’t know exactly how to go about it. I took a break at first and at the time I was going to school full time & working full time. But like a lot of first time entrepreneurs I made a lot of excuses of why I couldn’t I do it. I knew I was tired of working at Walmart and wanted a back up in case what I went to school for didn’t work. Even with that being said I kept at it. I still kept in contact with my vendors and still was getting stuff I needed and drawing stuff up and planning what I wanted for my business. Let’s fast forward to 2020 when COVID got really big I found out I was pregnant having a boy and that right there changed my whole mindset. I was going to school to be a nurse & I was like idk if I really wanna go to the hospital with all this going on. I also have a baby to think about and I got all my stuff together to get ready to have him. I boosted my credit score buying stuff I needed for his arrival and everything I then had him March 30th at 1:05pm. That was the day I was like I’m going to do it and for real this time. He gave me that push I needed. I knew I had to do this for him. I started June 2020 with my business setting up social media pages and struggling for months to learn this website stuff. I finally got that down pack and I got my LLC March of 2021 and I have so many people who are proud of me and kept pushing me. I love my soon to be big business even though I’m still in school and working full time and a full time mom I wouldn’t change anything. My son taught me a lot and I still have room to grow. I just wanted to tell any future entrepreneurs don’t let your situation discourage you and don’t keep putting off your dreams. Don’t procrastinate just start and you can do it. I know it’ll be hard but it’ll be so worth it in the end. Don’t let you’re dreams get away when you’re in your 40s and 50s wishing what you could’ve been if you followed you’re dreams.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been a little rocky but that’s with anything you go through in life. You’ll have great days where you getting multiple sales & engagement & there will also be times you’ll go days without anything. You still have to keep promoting you’re brand and you keep putting your business out there. Somebody is watching and rooting for your success. Even with everything I learned along the way in this business the one thing I struggle with is consistent marketing. I’m getting better actually sitting down and planning content & learning my target audience.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m Breanna Jackson & I’m the CEO of Foreign Dreamhouse LLC. I sell hair extensions, wigs lashes, lip gloss, designer durags, designer bonnets and head scarfs. I really want to be a one stop shop so you can get all of your needs in one place instead of shopping around. I specialize in sales been working sales for like five years now at Walmart. It kind of helped me a little with my business. I wouldn’t really say I’m known for anything yet because you couldn’t walk up to somebody and say my name and they’ll know who I am. I will say it’ll be coming soon though. I’m most proud of myself for sticking with it & never giving up on my dream. I feel my brand is different from others because nobody is like me & I’m not like anybody else. My mind my goals my drive my ambition just hits different
What matters most to you?
I would say in this very moment right now it would have to be my supporters because without them I wouldn’t be where I am right now today. They make this job even with all the hardships so worth it.
