Today we’d like to introduce you to Zoé Sosa.
Hi Zoé, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I originally started my journey with Glam Ink in Houston back in 2018! I was a solo artist perfecting my lash artistry after briefly doing traditional esthi work. Along with many others, the Covid-19 pandemic greatly affected my work life and resulted in me moving to Austin! Being that I was new to the city and didn’t know many people, I decided to join the team at Imagine Lash Lounge in Round Rock, Texas and have been lashing there since October 2020! Since then, I’ve met so many wonderful and amazing clients. I feel like this part of my career has really allowed me to grow as an artist and I’m very eager to see what more is to come!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This last year has definitely been one of the most challenging ones considering the whole world paused for a moment. Small businesses like myself were greatly affected but thankfully, I’ve managed to pull through and keep doing what I love. I feel as if the challenge still isn’t quite over yet as people are still very cautious with the close contact that comes with lashing, but hopefully with more solutions arising, we can get back to some sort of normalcy in the beauty industry.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an esthetician/lash artist! I specialize in lash extensions and lash health, personalizing every set to each client. What makes me extremely proud of the work I do is seeing my client’s final reaction at the end of each service. Empowering people has always been my motive in this industry and I feel so connected with my clients when they trust me to work my magic on them. What I feel separates me from others is my meticulous work ethic. I’m very much a detail-oriented artist so making sure each set goes perfect with my client is top priority while also maintaining their lash health and educating them on how to as well.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
The lash industry is one that’s growing immensely and I’m very excited to see what’s to come. Trends come and go so often so there’s never an end when it comes to learning new techniques.
