Today we’d like to introduce you to Raven Cornwall.
Hi Raven, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started getting into makeup back in 2013 when my sister came to visit me from Atlanta because she brought a makeup kit with her. I loved how all the different makeup techniques enhanced her beauty, so I started watching makeup tutorials on YouTube and began practicing on myself! With more and more practice I became very good at applying makeup.
At the time, I was a single mother, so I was trying to find another way to bring in more income while doing what I love. I decided to become a freelance makeup artist in 2014.
I am still growing my clientele as I am fairly new to the Austin area. I moved to Cedar Park in July of 2018. I believe social media has really help with building my clientele and collaborating with other awesome artists.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Being a freelance makeup artist has some challenges. The struggle that I face is my availability. I am not a full-time MUA because I have a full-time job working in the financial industry. I ensure that I provide quality work for my clients.
Sometimes, it is challenging for me to stay on top of social media and being active on my page because I work full-time and I’m trying to find that balance.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Freelance MUA. I specialize in makeup artistry. I am known for enhancing my client’s beauty.
I am most proud of where I am today. When I first started as a freelance MUA, I wasn’t really building a consistent clientele. Now I am more confident in getting myself out there to build my clientele and connect with others.

Pinterest is my favorite app. I always use Pinterest for inspiration.
