Today we’d like to introduce you to Victor Rodriguez.
Hi Victor, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I am the owner of Dramatx Photography. I was born in Naples Florida raised in Texas. I am a father to a beautiful young lady who has also blessed me this year and gave me the title of becoming a grandfather! Today I would love to share my story with you guys on how my passion for photography evolved into a business.
Growing up, I have always had a passion for creativity, not knowing that it would eventually develop my passion for photography. For as long as I can remember, I would always take pictures of various things and decided that I had a unique eye for it. At first, I didn’t pay too much mind to it; I just figured I was good at taking pics. As the years went by, I pursued many different jobs ranging from management, retail, construction, and healthcare. Although I had some very amazing experiences, I still didn’t feel like I had found anything that I was absolutely crazy about. In 2015 I was gifted my very first camera for my birthday and decided that I was going to go through with something I felt I was great at. I enrolled myself into the Art Institute of Austin for my bachelor’s in photography. I completed one year and just felt like I was learning more on my own than I was learning in college so I withdrew from the program. As time progressed, I started feeling like I wasn’t accomplishing my goals in the photography realm so I decided I wanted something more reliable and consistent, so I got certified as a CNA in 2017.
At this point, I was working healthcare in the daytime and using any spare time to continue to learn about photography. Turns out my very first photoshoot I ever did turned out being published in a local magazine in Austin, Texas. From that moment, I told myself that I definitely had my heart set on photography. I started learning more about camera lenses, more techniques, lighting etc! Which turned out to be very valuable and up to date. I ended up being published in over 12 magazines around Austin and surrounding areas. At times I would get discouraged due to only having one or two customers. But, as time progressed I started noticing more and more customers coming my way which motivated me to go official with everything and got my LLC for my photography business. Due to an unexpected pandemic, I created a studio inside my home and started working on building my brand.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth would definitely not be my first word of choice but the fact that I managed to get through it is what really matters to me. Covid-19 really made things a lot harder but with a little determination, I felt like anything was possible and I couldn’t just give up on something that I love so easily.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

I plan to have an official photography studio that won’t be inside my home. I am determined and confident that I will make all of those things happen.
