Conversations with Pat G

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pat G.

Hi Pat G, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
It all started with extreme pressure and a flash of bright light. Lol. Jk. Naw but it started in Temple, TX. My hometown where I’m born and raised! My whole music background actually started in Orchestra. I used to play the violin and the cello.

I’ve always had a love for rap music but I never rapped. I didn’t start rapping until about 2010. And even then, I still was only doing like one song every six months. I didn’t think of it as a career and didn’t know anything about that music business.

So, about four years ago. I decided to really push myself in my career as far as I can take it. I’ve released two albums, 1 EP and a demo tape. I’ve been on quite a few features for other artists as well. I’ve performed in 4 different states including Texas and I’m “technically” an international rapper. I have performed in Toronto, Canada.

I’ve performed at well over 30 different venues in Austin, Tx, multiple festival appearances including SXSW, Pecan Street Festival and my most recent performance Formula 1 !!

If you listen to my music, you’ll hear lines of wit, motivation, raw and authentic hiphop. I have my own clothing brand called “Be Relentless” and it’s been extremely well supported by my fans.

My latest single is “Let’s Go” is out now on all streaming platforms.

In 2022 I plan on releasing a couple of projects. The first will be an EP called “Talk to me nice” I’m going to focus my attention on increasing streams, my social media count and becoming an opening act for a major artist.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
HAHA… smooth!? Heck nooooo!!!! Not at all. Being the 3rd of a single parent of four was tough. I moved to Austin about eight years ago. I wrecked my car driving on Parmer, been fired from jobs, had a car repossessed, getting screwed over by scammers on the internet, had to move abruptly and a whole host of other things. I get looked over a lot because I’m not fitting in with the societal norms of the rap game right now. I have the “talent” and “bars” but for some reason I haven’t quite figured out how to break through that barrier.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I have a Bachelors degree from Huston-Tilotson University! I do tech sales during the day and I have my own coaching/fitness business. I specialize in making the body move at its peak performance! I’m known for being a role model, coach and motivational speaker. I’m most proud of getting my degree after going back to school when I dropped out at one point. What sets me apart is me being Christian and just trying to be someone that kids can look up to.
