Hi Emily, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Sister Stone was founded after my sister Sarah and I discovered the benefits of CBD. I first witnessed the benefits of CBD in 2015 when my father-in-law was in a fierce battle with pancreatic cancer. He used it to alleviate his pain and nausea. It was amazing to see how quickly and effectively it worked for him. At that point, CBD wasn’t yet “mainstream” and there was still a stigma attached to it, even more so than now. I began to try CBD and found that it helped me sleep better and manage stress. I was excited to help other moms like myself try CBD without the guilt.
Meanwhile, Sarah became interested in CBD, as it was becoming more regularly used and discussed among her girlfriends. She wears many hats as a mom, attorney and fitness instructor, which brings daily anxiety and pain to manage. She started using CBD balm and was surprised at how much it helped alleviate her aches and pains.
After we tried CBD and experienced the benefits, we knew we had stumbled upon something special. We were rested, rejuvenated, and more balanced. We began to spread awareness of CBD to friends and family. We noticed a gap in the market of products that both contained high-quality, trusted ingredients and that also felt beautiful and delightful. Most products appeared intimidating, clinical, masculine, or didn’t meet our quality standards. From this, Sister Stone was launched to offer high-quality, trusted CBD products that also look and feel beautiful.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Oh my goodness, it has been a VERY bumpy road! Sister Stone CBD launched in February 2020… just in time for a global pandemic! We had retailers (understandably) cancel orders, launch events and pop ups. Everything we had planned got scrapped, so we had to start all over. We learned to quickly pivot and focus more on online sales as opposed to a wholesale and brick and mortar approach.
Additionally, regulations in the CBD industry are constantly evolving and vary from state to state, even county to county. So we’ve really had to stay ahead of the game and be proactive in an ever-changing landscape.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We started Sister Stone CBD after experiencing the benefits of CBD firsthand. Once we began using CBD regularly, we felt well-rested, rejuvenated, and more balanced- which was very important to us working moms (of three kids each)!
Sister Stone was launched to offer high-quality, trusted CBD products. Many CBD products on the market are not what they claim to be. Since the industry is unregulated, quality is extremely important. We double lab test every single product and only use organic, broad-spectrum hemp. All of our products are grown in the USA, from seed to bottle.
To us, this is more than a business. Sister Stone CBD represents community, support without judgement, and the encouragement to be your best self. We hope to inspire others to live beautifully balanced through self-care and self-love.
