Today we’d like to introduce you to Katherine Larson.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m a born and raised in the Midwest, and now I live in Austin and spend a good amount of time traveling back and forth to Los Angeles. I was in college when my career started to develop, shooting weddings, fashion campaigns for Urban Outfitters, Free People, Vogue Italia, and more. My style is a unique mix of timeless, documentary, fine art, and candid. I pride myself on being able to capture the essence of my client’s love story.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The road was bumpy along the way with learning how to develop my photography skills all while running a business and gaining new clients. After eight years, I’m still learning new things each day while expanding my business and building my team.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I grew my brand in fashion firstly which brought me out to Los Angeles from Texas. There, I grew my business and clientele but ultimately moved more into wedding photography. Once I started working in that industry things really started to progress in my career. I ended up moving back to Austin as the majority of my weddings were in Texas. I’m most proud of building a successful business from the ground up. Not going to school for anything in the arts but still being successful and learning what I’ve learned is what I’m super proud of. I believe what sets me apart is my heart in my work. I put a lot of intention behind each of my sessions and each of my couples. I strive to document each of their unique love stories in a really personal way.
