Today we’d like to introduce you to Ivonne Tinoco.
Hi Ivonne, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am originally from El Paso, TX. I currently live in Austin, TX.
I am a Licensed Master Esthetician/ Eyelash Instructor. I graduated from Esthetician School in 2017.
Before my education, I had a small clothing boutique in El Paso TX it was called “Couture Fashion”, I had started in 2013. It was then when I decided to incorporate something different, like Eyelash strips. I designed my first Eyelash Strip made out of Mink fibers. The mink Eyelash concept was a huge hit, I can say I was the first in my city to introduce the Mink lash strips. I ran the boutique by myself all the way through 2016, Had to stop that year due to my youngest son starting school. I knew I wouldn’t be able to do it all by myself considering I’m a single parent raising four boys.
So I decided to put myself in school as well. With the profit I made from my Boutique, then I also created a Website for my lashes and named it “BIG DADDY LASHES” which I still offer today. Once in Esthetician School, I was introduced to a whole world of Beauty, I am also a Licensed Laser Technician, but I chose to focus on just lashes. So I learned all about Eyelash Extensions. After graduating, I continued my education in Lash Artistry, I took Certified training courses with the Best International World Lash Trainers from London and Moscow. I am currently Certified by Jo Mousillin from Xtreme Lashes, Julia Khordova Master Lash Trainer, Lash Tribe Lash Academy, and Olga Nevmienko World Master Lash Trainer. After that, I went back to school to get my Instructor License taught the accredited Lash course in El Paso TX for one year before I moved to Austin. Now I am currently working on opening my own Lash Institute. My goal is to train and prepare upcoming Lash Artists with getting their License to become a professional lash tech through the state of Texas. Giving everyone an opportunity to become successful and their own boss.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth ride. Running a business by myself and as a single parent is challenging. Not to mention expensive! And I really didn’t know what I was doing. It took a lot of errors to learn. But when you’re trying to succeed and detriment to do it right, Nothing can stop you.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I will be opening an Accredited School for Lash Artistry this Spring in the Round Rock area, I will be the Lead Instructor, And also offer MedSpa services to the public, like laser hair reduction, Bodysculpting, Microneedling and (Fills) injections.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Being patient, motivated and most of all humble are important characteristics to becoming successful.
