Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Johnson.
Hi Rachel, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all started with my passion for volleyball – which led me to receiving a full-ride scholarship to a Division 1 university in gorgeous Mississippi.
After wrapping up college, I made my stride into the world of luxurious, high-end hospitality – which allowed me to work for some of the most admired international hotel chains.
Seeing what the world had to offer in its oyster made me fall head over heels in love with travel. Today, I work to ensure that brand standards are fully upheld within an organization.
In a nutshell, that’s where my passion for branding consulting services and travel agent services truly comes from.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I struggle with balance often. I started off planning travel for my friends and family, then I realized that my approach to travel and experiences was something that no one I knew offered. But my perfectionist side very much takes over. Lots of people like me never get started until it’s all perfectly in place. What I realized is that progress should always be over perfection.

The RJ Collective is a full-blown experiences agency. Specializing in custom, luxury travel curation and brand & marketing consulting for small businesses, we believe every opportunity is an experience waiting to be conquered.
In today’s age, we tend to spend our money and time on experiential travel and gifts. We spend our money and support businesses that give us a feeling like no other. And that is the mission of The RJ Collective.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I moved to Austin in 2004 when I was ten years old. There’s an approachability factor to the city that makes people fall in love and feel comfortable.
On the other hand, Austin lacks the diversity of other major cities in Texas.
