Today we’d like to introduce you to James Robinson.
Hi James, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started playing music in Memphis before relocating to Austin, TX. Once I got to Austin, I connected with different artists & musicians here within the local scene.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
My road here has been educational. I’ve had the experience of being a sideman & a frontman in different projects.

I’m a vocalist, songwriter, & producer. I specialize in singing, writing, & producing music. I’m proud of the collaborations I’ve had with a verity of artists cross multiple genres here in Austin. Coming from a city like Memphis & being connected with that level of music history & heritage has been a rite of passage.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love how forward-thinking Austin is as a city. I feel that the music community within the city of Austin has grown culturally within the past five years & provided more platforms for Hip Hop, R&B, & Soul to be heard live. The least thing I like about Austin currently is the price of living.
