Rising Stars: Meet Bianca Trevino

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bianca Trevino.

Hi Bianca, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Two years after graduating from college, I found myself in a corporate career completely miserable and really feeling like my job had no purpose. I started to do some “soul searching” if you will and really dove into what things made me happy and what I felt like I was good at. As I did more research I realized that everything about being a wedding planner seemed perfect for me! I love to be creative, work with people and meet new people. Being organized and leading others came natural to me and it seemed like being a wedding planner would be the perfect fit.

At the time I was living in San Antonio, TX so I reached out to a planner there and asked if there was any position she had available paid or unpaid, I just wanted to get some exposure and see if this career path was really for me. I worked my first wedding December 2017 and loved it. I immediately knew I wanted to be a wedding planner. I continued working for that same planner for about two years. I slowly started working with friends and family, helping with their wedding planning and wedding day execution. I then found a whole new love of being my own boss and running a business. In October 2019, I launched Bianca Nichole Events full time in Austin, TX. The community here has been incredible and the couples we work with are seriously the best! I’m so happy with where the business is today.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I would say it’s been relatively smooth and I have to thank my husband and God for that. When I first moved to Austin I packed my days with meeting people and touring venues. So much of the work we do as creatives is spent alone, working from home. When we work a wedding, the other vendors are essentially like our coworkers for the day. So I wanted to just get to know people and find my friends within the industry. That ultimately became my best route because people started to recognize my name and even gave me free advice about the industry and the city. I’m so grateful for that and honestly don’t know if my journey would have been as smooth without those few gracious people befriending me. My degree is in Public Health, which obviously has nothing to do with wedding planning or running a business so occasionally doubt would kick in and make me question “do I have any idea what I’m doing?” But I spent so many hours doing research, listening to podcasts, paying for coaching sessions, really taking in any bit on information I could on running a business.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As an Austin wedding planner, we service couples in a variety of ways. Our favorite way to work with couples is Full Planning and Design. We are all about building relationships and spending 6 to 18 months with a couple planning every detail about their wedding definitely allows us to create friendships with our couples. With every Full Planning service we also help with design services. Over the years, I have found design to really excite me. I love taking a couple’s ideas and partnering with them to create a wedding day look that is special to them but also eye catching and unique for the guests. Bianca Nichole Events specializes in bright, fun and whimsical designs. We bring a balance of traditional and creative thinking to your wedding day! Our work has been featured in national online blogs including Ruffled and Wedding Chicks. We are proud to serve couples regardless of their age, race, social status, religious background, or gender. We are proud to serve LGBTQ+ couples and welcome all love. I think being a business owner is a huge blessing that should be shared with the community. With each couple we service, we donate a portion of the package to various organizations supporting cancer research, animal welfare, children welfare and other health awareness organizations.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
When I’m not planning weddings you can find me taking our dog Lola for a walk, trying out new food places or having a game night with our friends.
