Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandi Adkins.
Hi Brandi, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I came from very little and knew from an early age that there was so much more out there. My mom, who has always been my biggest cheerleader, bought me a coffee mug when I was in high school that said If it Is going to be – It is up to me. I kept my toothbrush in that mug for decades and read it twice a day everyday. IF IT IS GOING TO BE IT IS UP TO ME. I put myself through college and took a few years to find my path into being a business owner and entrepreneur. I started with a real estate license and no direction to scaling a business. I realized that I can accomplish whatever I can imagine and the only thing that stands between me and what I want is the knowledge I need to get me there. This has led me to a lifelong commitment of continuously learning.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I was raised with my 2 brothers by a single mom who was usually working 3 jobs to keep food on the table. It was hard. Our father lived just 2 hours away from us our entire lives but was not interested in being a part of our lives. It was a rough start for sure, but my grandparents helped as much as they could and we often stayed with them in between moves. My older brother encouraged me to follow his footsteps to college. He knew that was our ticket to a better life, so I trusted his guidance. We both graduated college, changing the trajectory of our families forever. I was able to buy my mom a house of her very own and we have never looked back at that lifestyle we left behind.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We help growing families in need of more space to accommodate their evolving lifestyles. Whether they are moving up or moving into the Austin area, we help them find the home that they love in areas that are the perfect fit for their lifestyle. We do what we love and people love what we do! A majority of our business is repeat and referral business.
Our clients are like family. We are often running between baby showers, birthday parties, & graduation invites because we care for our clients like family & love watching their families grow and flourish! We host three large events each year to spend time with and support our community. My husband and biggest supporter, who is also licensed, will be joining me as our business grows. He creates a HUGE light show in our yard every year. First, we have a Halloween Light Show that we use as an opportunity to serve our community with an Annual Food Drive. We have a full choreographed Light Show to all the favorite Halloween Songs and we invite folks to drive by or stop in to see the show. We also host an Annual Toy Drive where we serve cocoa and cookies and collect gifts during our Christmas Light Show. Last, with the exception of the last two covid years, we have an Annual Kentucky Derby Party at our home. It is the biggest and most elaborate client appreciation party! We have photographers, TV’s screens set up, horse races, games, prizes, a bartender and we have even had live local music. The ladies get to compete in a hat contest and the guys love the horse races. We serve mint juleps and spoil our Adkins VIP clients for being such a huge part of our lives. My business is built by serving my client on the highest level & in turn they are happy to refer me to their friends and family because they can trust that I will be here before, during and after any real estate business takes place.
