Today we’d like to introduce you to Aralyn Thomasson.
Hi Aralyn, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Starting my career at 18 years old, I knew hairdressing was my passion. After receiving my operator’s license for cosmetology, my vision was to start renting my own salon booth, With all the ups and downs, I have managed to succeed in this field.
I was always learning and incorporating new techniques old and new. Definitely was an experience of growing and knowing what direction I was headed. I always had a vision of doing something big and new! I am a Texas native, so naturally, I kept seeking for new opportunities.
That’s when my husband and I started to do some research in our big state. Soon it came to me, we’re moving to Austin! Taking in my experience and yearning for more I started my second phase of my career.
Fast forward, almost two years in, I was blessed to keep going and fulfilling my goals. Now, I have my knowledge and freedom of owning my own suite at “The Marquise Salon Suites”.
The feeling of being behind the chair and building relationships, and creative inspired looks to my clients has been such a wonderful experience. Knowing that even the hardest challenges with being a hair colorist, I always strive to have my clients smiling with great hair. It’s like creating a masterpiece for them to wear for any occasion. Whether it’s maintenance, new look, or something unique.
Being said, I can’t wait to explore and keep growing in this wonderful industry. I am ready for all the greatness coming forward to my future as a hair colorist. Something that I truly enjoy and being able to do this in Austin is truly a blessing!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Building clientele in a different city when I just moved here during the pandemic was the hardest thing I’ve done yet. I have grown and learned so many things to help me achieve who I am now in the Austin hair industry.

I love the transformation of giving my clients the will to create their own look. I specialize mostly as a hair colorist, offering foilayage, highlights, teasylights, and color correction.
I am also a healthy session stylist, I love to offer my clients the best in their hair journey.
By using the best hair care products, and education on what they are needing to keep up their hair to the best condition.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
My risk taking was moving here during the pandemic, I relocated to Austin during 2020 starting my journey, and career.
Regardless, I was able to build clientele again and meet all sorts of wonderful people. As a hairstylist, I was happy to create that atmosphere even through the toughest times.
